Hey!
I'm in Portugal right now on our babymoon! We booked our pre departure test from Collinsons for £66 (usually £82 but got 20% off with Ryan Air - I think you can get this discount with other airlines too). Results came in less than 24hrs but they say it can take upto 48hrs.
We have to do an anitgen test before leaving Portugal which we booked it Lagos for €27. Results come in an hr.
Day 2 test on return to the UK can be a hone test kit which we need to book. I think there are tests available from £45 onwards...

Yes, it's not cheap, but we were desperate for a getaway to decided to spend the extra money to get some sun and beach time! Been here a week now and I don't regret it one bit!

@MK0411 sounds great! We’re off to Lagos too, where did you do your test there? Did you book in advance? Thanks.

What’s a baby moon?!

Hoppinggreen · 01/06/2021 08:52

It’s a holiday you take when pregnant. No idea why it gets a special name though

Babymoon is just another excuse to get away Grin

We're doing our antigen test at Fisiolabor in Lagos. You'll have to call or email to book with them.

I’m in portugal now, £60 pcr to get here, 30 euro lateral flow to leave for the uk, then a £60 pcr on day 2 back in the uk. The tests here are difficult to book at short notice so definitely book well in advance.

Catquestion · 01/06/2021 18:02

@Thischarmlessgirl where did you get the lateral flow test from? Our tour operator said we could just pick one up from a pharmacy....do we actually need to book something?

Thischarmlessgirl · 01/06/2021 18:05

@Catquestion you need to book and get a fit to fly certificate so you can’t just do it at home. Where are you staying? I’m in Vilamoura in the Algarve and have booked at a local clinic. We do the test and they email the certificate afterwards, faro airport has a walk in testing centre but people are queuing for 4 hours....you can book a home test from queron or collinson, They post you the test in England and you take it with you and then arrange a video cool where they watch you do the test and an email you your fit to fly certificate.
