Small cartons of forumla in hand luggage?

Are we allowed to take the small ready-made cartons of formula through in hand luggage? We've got an early morning flight and don't think breakfast is an option at 3am so want to take some milke for DD until its time for proper food. We're flying from Bristol and I doubt whether they'll have any stocked airside. Alternative option I suppose is to take some of the small sachets of formula powder and get water once we've gone through into departures. Would this be allowed?

There is a superdrug airside at Bristol. But if you put the milk in the bottle then they will make you taste it when you go through security . Think it is still a 100ml limit so if catons are more than that then they might say no.
Packets are a good option and no problem there.

Here you go - you'll be fine!

"Security & Liquid Restrictions
The guidelines for travelling from all UK airports state that liquids are only permitted when in containers of 100ml or less. Liquid containers must be placed together in a 20cm x 20cm re-sealable, transparent plastic bag and presented separately at the search point. A maximum of ten containers holding 100ml are allowed (1 litre of liquid)."

That was taken from Bristol Airport's website.

Thank you. How bizarre though that you can take 10 x 100ml if packed separately but not in one go. Very odd. The cartons are 250mls so that sounds doubtful doesn't it eventhough they're sealed.

Handy to know that there is a Superdrug at Bristol - spent 10 hours delayed there a couple of years ago and didn't notice!

When we went away in August I took sterilized empty bottles, bought small bottles of Evain in duty free and one of those containers sectioned into three with scoops of milk.

I made my own on the plane - no trouble. Plus you could take extra in case of hold ups

Why don't you give the airport a call. I'm sure I took a 200ml bottle for DD when I last flew (July) and they were fine as long as I tasted it. They understand that babies need their milk.

Found this on Birmingham Airport's security section:

"You may still:
Carry in your hand luggage medicines and special dietary requirements, including baby foods, for use during the trip. You may be asked for proof that they are needed and/or required to taste the contents of each jar or bottle."

Panic (of sorts over). Managed to phone Superdrug at Bristol Airport. They open early (4.30am) and stock the cartons of milk. Don't really know why I'm worrying that much. DD is actually now solely on cow's milk but I can't quite see me carting pint cartons of the stuff around for her!
Thanks to all who replied and hopefully this information will be of use to others.
