Christmas break in a cottage

Hi. Do you think this is a bit of a long shot? Me, dh and 7 month ds would like to spend Christmas Eve night, Christmas Day night and Boxing Day night (ergo 3 nights) in a cottage somewhere in the UK - maybe Peak District. Have looked at English cottages etc and most don't cover just those 3 nights. Any ideas? TIA

you'd probably have to pay for a few wekk covering these days and just leave earlier thus loosing some money.

That's what I was worried about Bran. I've just been searching and I've found a cottage in Lincolnshire that is for 3 nights at £180. It takes about 3 hours from South East (where I live) to Nottingham. Is Lincoln much further does anyone know? Will travelling by car with small ds on Xmas Eve be worth it I wonder?!

try premier cottages as ad vertised on the home page

Branster · 02/11/2004 22:04

I don't actually know where Lincoln is but I'd say it's a bit adventurous travelling on Christmas Eve with a baby. But then again, if you don't do it now, will you do it in later years?

vict17 · 02/11/2004 22:06

Just had a look Coddy and no premier cottages advertised. Or is it just me?

have you looked for cottages in Yorkshire or Cornwall or Devon? I know these are nice places but it might be more expensive.

vict17 · 02/11/2004 22:10

eh Cod?
Devon, Cornwall and Yorkshire even further than Lincolnshire unfortunately. Perahps we should just stay home. Just felt like as we're not seeing family doing something a bit out of the ordinary you know?

I can recommend Hoseasons Cottages. They do 3 night breaks on some of theirs. If you could get a one bedroom one that takes a travel cot that would keep the costs down. Where abouts in the south east are you? They do some in Norfolk & Suffolk.

Try Lantern Cottage in Appledore, North Devon. I moaned about it , but only cos of the weather and dh. But you'll get that anywhere. See if I can find a (not) link And it was only £230 for the whole half term! 10 metres from the beach!

carla · 02/11/2004 22:51

Humph! no I can't. But it was in Irsha Street, Appledore, N. devon. Have a go ... I can't now.
