Travel to France in July - yay or nay?

Not for a holiday - to visit my Mum who I haven't seen for 18 months. Easyjet still have flights available to book for the summer. France is not on the green list now but might be by July. I'm thinking of booking anyway and hoping that things change. But then I'm also thinking about the pre and post travel Covid tests - how does that even work? Government website clear as mud. Can anyone offer any advice?

I don't think anyone can advise, as no-one knows. It's a moving situation.

FWIW, we've got a week's accommodation and our Tunnel tickets booked for France late July, and currently hope to be able to travel and then will book end with hotels, but everything is refundable until end June for the house, and anytime for Tunnel.

If you hedge your bets and book something, I'd just be aware of your cancellation terms. I've had lots of flights with Easyjet booked and cancelled over this last year, it's been very straightforward.

I think there is still some work to be done re Covid tests. To be fair, travel doesn't even start until Monday, so there's still time for that issue to be ironed out, particularly as we approach peak holiday time...

At the moment passengers arriving in France from the UK are required to self-isolate for seven days on arrival, before taking another PCR test. Exit from this self-isolation period is subject to a negative test result.
