Sorrento in September - any suggestions?

My fabulous mate and his equally fabulous girlfriend are getting married in Sorrento in Mid September next year.

The dds are flowergirls .

I appear to have no idea where to look to find a villa type thingy that is not feckin dangerous to have two pre schoolers in (will be 2 & 4) or horrifically expensive.

Any suggestions? We would much prefer to fly from Scotland and really really don't want a hotel. Hotels are utterly mince with two smalls.

I have never seen or heard of villas in SOrrento to be honest its all hotels. You could try the Sorrrento tourist board I think its under Campania tourist board . Do try to get something in the centre of Sorrento getting up the hill in an evening is a nightmare ! Think Thomson do flights from Glasgow but I guess they will be weekly

Thanks Rosa.

We need to be in the centre really. I have found various aprtments but they seem to have child killing balconies/terraces mostly - must be the hilly thing.

Will try the tourist board. Flights on a friday from Glasgw which is fine.

try the forums at tripadvisor.co.uk and go to the Sorrento part. Its a mixture of visitors and people who live there so you'll get plenty of help

Cheers peacemaker will do.

If in the centre it will be apts and yes, most apartments in Italy (including mine) do have balconies and terraces due to the climate, somehow Italian children survive the experience so they can't be that bad.

Try this

Do avoid clifftop villas as last summer one in the area had a sundeck collapse and people were thrown in the sea/on the rocks. Turned out the builder had cut corners and it was built without planning permission so no checks.
