Flying to US with Northwestern airlines - HELP - any tips or advice?

We are flying to the US on Christmas Day with our three kids (4,3, and 1) and flying with Northwestern airlines. We have made this trip several times before, but we always used BA before and know what to expect! Northwestern doesn't sound like they are very kid friendly and wondering what others have experienced with them. We usually have a direct flight but this time we have a lay over in Minneapolis.

Should I be worried about this flight? We didn't get our 1 year old a seat as we assumed we would get bulk head seats with baby seat (like BA has) but don't think Northwestern does that. HELP!!

Hi,

I would today look at the Manage my reservation page on their website and see if you can now allocate seats together for your particular flight. The last thing you need is for you all to be separated in potentially two different parts of the aircraft (have seen this happen with other family groups and it often relies on other passengers' goodwill to get people seated together).

Sometimes bulkhead seats are reserved for families with newborns. These can also be allocated at check in but I would not count on Northwestern to give you these seats.

Your one year old is not normally allocated a seat; this child will need to sit on your lap for take off and landing.

Bring along your childrens' favourite foodstuffs for the flight; do not solely rely on them to provide food.

If you look at seatguru.com they should have details of the aircraft Northwestern airlines use. You can see what seats are to be avoided.
