Where to go?! Two week holiday no kids

Hi,

Kids are now a bit older and husband and I looking to take our first holiday without them in years. We will have two weeks in August this year when kids have other things on so we can go away just the two of them. We can’t think where to go though and when I try to google I get overwhelmed with options.

Looking for:
-sun!!!
-pool
-beach

  • good food and drink

Ultimately we want to relax, no pressures to do anything and just enjoy being together.

Happy to do long haul. As it’s August we’re keen to avoid other peoples kids so maybe adult only hotel suggestions?

Thank you!

Lindor blu, most relaxing and fabulous place

I don't know how comfortable you are about booking something more long haul if you're planning to go this year, but Borneo is gorgeous. You can have a night or two in Hong Kong on the way there, and there's something for everyone in Borneo (culture, scenery, trekking, beaches, luxurious island resorts) and reasonable priced.

I would do one week on a Greek island like Mykonos, then fly/ferry to Athens for the second week.

Mexico - The Valentin Imperial Resort in Riviera Maya - incredible

We’ve had a look and ideally what we would like is a nice hotel with a great pool (beach if poss) with no kids and walking distance to a marina/port with lots of restaurants so we can eat out. Any ideas?!

Lindos Blu Hotel just outside Lindos. Adult only, amazing food and service. We can't wait to go again.

PuffItsGone · 16/03/2021 13:59

Auntie I had a look on map and couldn’t see any restaurants locally, is there a little village or something? Thanks

Four seasons Hotel limassol Cyprus
Went on a work trip. Fabulous and has an adult only pool .

I'd go for Paxos. We've always rented so can't recommend a specific hotel, there are fabulous luxury villas and some excellent hotels on the island. There is nothing better in the world than hiring a boat, collecting a picnic and just dropping anchor in a secluded bay. Wonderful.

I can't comment on the hotel, but Lindos is faaaaaaabulous. Stunning village, gorgeous beaches, fantastic weather (if you like Serious Heat!), friendly locals and absolutely loads of fabulous restaurants and bars.

Kalkan in Turkey is similar in terms of being picturesque with lots of lovely restaurants and bars, but it's a harbour really, so only has a tiny beach.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 16/03/2021 16:23

We stayed at the Ikos Oceania but I believe they're all of an equally high standard. I'd give my eye teeth (odd expression that - why would anyone want them???) to go back.

I’ve managed to find Lindos Blu and it’s proximity to Lindos town. Board basis available is B&B or half board. For those who have been, which would you recommend??

How about Cape Verde?

blue25 · 16/03/2021 20:53

Costa Rica or The Seychelles. My 2 favourite holidays.

OverTheRainbow88 · 16/03/2021 20:58

@PuffItsGone

I would do B&B only, as the choice is so amazing you Barry need lunch. Then so many amazing restaurants to try in lindos, we never really ate dinner there as was too much to try else where!

I suggest to remain in Europe.

I feel that Asia Pacific region will remain with COVID border closures until at least the end of 2021. I'm based in AUS, and so many of the smaller countries around us will not risk COVID either entering their country or having an outbreak.

Pammy39 · 17/03/2021 12:26

I would go to Cuba, I was in Cayo Coco 7 years ago and would love to come back one day. So relaxing holliday but just too short. We stayed 7 nights.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 17/03/2021 12:48

Oooh, I'd love to go to Cuba.

PuffItsGone · 17/03/2021 15:20

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, much appreciated Smile due to covid etc were going to stick to Europe this year and have gone ahead and booked Lindos Blu- the trip advisor reviews were the best I’ve ever seen so we have high hopes!
