We're thinking of going Easter 2009 so also looking out for tips.

Share a villa with friends

Seriously though - villas very close to Disney come in at less than £1000 for a fortnight. And that is a big 4 bed with private pool, air con, etc.

Book flights plenty in advance.

Look around for tickets. First year we went we paid just over £300 er person and got loads for our money inc 14 days Disney Hoppers (inc 4 Disney parks and 2 water parks), 7 days worth of Universal parks (2 parks), 2 days at Seaworkd and a day ticket for Space Centre.

hmmm wonder who'd be up for that!

trying to work out how much we need to save to go.

Well, if you can cope with the heat and go in mid August next year, if you stay on a Disney property they are throwing in a free dining plan for each member of the party.

I priced it up and a family of four can stay at a Disney hotel for around £1700 including all your restaurant bills and all the tickets for Disney parks. It is a very good deal. Obviously you still need to pay for flights as well.

It might be worth trying Travel City Direct as they usually honour the free dining plan but have pretty good value package prices which include flights.

is that per person or all together?

Book as far in advance as possible

Altogether! Assuming you can all squeeze into one room (most disney rooms take 4 people in 2 queen beds).

villas are definately a cheaper option and you can still get quite small ones if you can't find a group to share with.

Have to say though that in all honesty it's kind of one of those holidays where you really don't want to be watching the pennies. I would wait and save for a couple of years so you can just do as much as possible. Tis a fab holiday.
