My mum aged 70, no mobility issues, would like to go somewhere to see elephants in the wild. Don't want it too hot, max 10 hours flight, budget £1200 each. Would be a great for both of us. Any suggestions I thought Sri lanka?

The Sheldrick place is amazing.
Watch The Elephant Diaries about it, and also Daphne Sheldricks book An African Love Story. It's incredible.
While in Nairobi the giraffe sanctuary was interesting too.

Yes, totally agree re the Giraffe Sanctuary too.

We have stayed at Wilderbeest Eco Camp in Nairobi several times - a range of accomodation options. Many friends have also stayed there and it has always had good reviews. Helpfully they have a travel agent on site as well so they can arrange safaris for you too.
