i've never been to belfast before, we're going for a wedding this weekend. we will arrive late friday and leave sunday afternoon. the wedding is saturday afternoon. therefore i've got saturday morning and sunday morning to fill - any suggestions of places to go/places to eat. i won't have a car and am staying at the premier travel inn which is in town.

unfitmummy, Belfast is a great place! lovely shops, McDonalds Pizza Hut and some locally owned ones.

It's a great place to walk around and I'm sure you wont be bored.

Have a great weekend!

thanks guys.
nightshade - i found the site for W5 which i think is at the odyssey, the problem is that it doesn't open until 10am on saturday and 12 on sunday! so not good for a morning's entertainment. i think we'll just go for a wander and see belfast, hopefully we'll have nice weather and come across a park for dd to play in and maybe a museum to look around.

Botanic Gardens nice to walk around, and free! Belfast Zoo great for kids but would be a bus or taxi from centre. If it's raining Castlecourt Shopping Centre (Royal Ave) is indoors and has a small children's play area and a food hall upstairs.

If weather is nice on Sat or Sun morning, head to Botanic Gardens for a walk, huge lawn for running around in and at the far end of Botanic (near the Queen's PEC), there is a chilren's playground.

You can take a stroll on Botanic Ave after and check out the cafes for brunch / breakfast etc.

The really good playgrounds for kids tend to be a little out of city centre in the suburbs.

Google NI4kids for some other suggestions.
