Would you recommend New York in February?

I did hope to go this coming October or possibly November however, I just can see it happening due to COVID. The next option we have as a family is February. Would we regret it? Cold doesn’t bother us. We live in Scotland so are used to some cold temperatures and snow etc. We could do Summer 2022 but I really hate doing a city break when it’s too hot.

Next opportunity would be October 2022 and by that point I am closer to my 52nd Birthday than my 50th which is what the trip was meant to celebrate!

We went Feb 2020 and it was cold but not unbearable. We did pretty much everything we wanted to do although one rather chilly morning we decided to just look at the statue of liberty from the shore line rather than get the ferry out as it was bitterly cold! We had also just been to Las Vegas so I think arriving in NY was a bit of a shock weather wise.

February is freezing. We went in a February half term and it snowed 🥶

My son was there last Feb and said it was cold but not freezing and they had a lovely time just wrapped up warm. He did say the other day he’d looked at temps just now abs they are warmer than Feb last year - he’d re booked for this year but obs didn’t get to go.
I’d go Feb over Easter but November would be nice too as it’s getting Christmassy

Snowy there now I think. Easter and October half term best. July ok but hot and humid. Winter best avoided but lead up to Christmas is good. Normally!

We've just had more than 2 feet of snow 🥶

We’ve been in February and you know when you’re so cold you tense up the moment you step outside - I spent the whole 4 days with my shoulders around my ears, chugging painkillers because I’d tensed up so hard my back went into spasm.

We’ve also been in July and it was very hot and very smelly.

I’ve had my fill of NY but if we were to go again I’d choose April/May.

We lived there for a year. January and February were so painfully cold that I barely ventured out. There is a constant chilly wind and it really is breathtaking. You never see children in the play parks and outside of the main areas, it’s pretty quiet, as people just don’t venture out much. I’m not a sun lover, but I actually quite like summer there as it was hot but not humid.

Was humid in the summer when we were there. Long Island was breezier and pleasant.

There is currently a ban on UK citizens entering the US with only a very few specific exemptions.

(Sorry)
