Would you go to Italy now?

My mum and my sister's family live there.
I am in U.K. and lost my job in September, my DH can still go to work everyday and my DD (12) has online school.
I spend most of the day alone and it is getting hard.
I was thinking that my DD and I could go to my mums at the end of January. I know we need to quarantine there plus the tests both here and there but we would be able to see a few more people during the day. My mum and my sister's family are in the same bubble and we could be part of it after the quarantine. We have a place where my Dd and I can isolate for 14 days so no problem on that.
I need to ask the school if I am allowed to take my Dd. If I cannot take her, I won't go
I feel also guilty to leave my DH but he's not at home for part of the day.
I am planning to stay at least until end of February.
What would you do?

An escape hatch!
I can see why you are tempted, do you really think your dh would be alright with it?

I don't think you are allowed to travel to Italy at the moment, unless you are an Italian citizen returning home from the UK.

@user1471523870 I am not returning home but I think I can travel there. There are limited flights and need to do a test here before leaving and there within 72 hrs from landing plus quarantine.

No. I wouldn't travel at all at the mo and risk spreading U.K. variant.

Hello I'm a lurker here usually, but live in Italy. At the moment only people who can prove they are residents are being let into Italy.

You're not actually allowed to travel abroad.

"Under current UK COVID-19 restrictions, you must stay at home. You must not leave home or travel, including abroad, unless you have a legally permitted reason to do so."

Do you think we will be able to to travel to Italy for Easter? I understand you have no idea but I can't find anything on Italy, it seems the jab is being rolled out. But are school shut, is there a lockdown, are they hopefully suppressing it.. Thanks you

Unless you're a citizen or permanent resident, they won't allow you into the country.

I'm in Italy. Depending on the region you are going to there are strict restrictions at the moment. (Where I am we cannot travel outside of our local region for example). I don't think you would be allowed in unless you are a resident here and returning home.

But are school shut, is there a lockdown, are they hopefully suppressing it.
Senior schools are shut. Middle schools are open but may shut soon. Elementary schools are open.
Lockdown changes depending on the day/region. Where I am, shops are open today but bars and restaurants are only open for takeaways.

Temporary (I hope). It's like this for most of Europe.

We've been in lockdown since February last year where I live in the north, although it comes in many levels and can change overnight. The lockdown is much, much stricter than the Uk too. We're not allowed to leave the area where we live (town in my case) for example, you need certification to prove why you're outside if in a red zone, almost nothing is open, I personally would not plan for Easter, I don't think things will be that much different. I don't wish to sound harsh, I have the same sentiment that I am desperate to see my family in the UK who I haven't seen since December 2019, so I get it. As others have said, you wouldn't be allowed in at the moment and who knows how long it will last, but I truly hope it won't be too long.
