Is it risky to book a holiday package for May 2021?

If we book a holiday to Greece with tui for May 2021, is there a chance that we wouldn’t get money back/rescheduled to next year if coronavirus flared up and stopped us going? Tia
Ps tried to call them but they said the line was busy!

You are at their mercy when it comes to shifting it to 2022 though - who knows if it will rocket in price.

A lot of people have had a lot of problems with Tui.
I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole now.

I would leave booking until closer to the time, it says in those t&cs normal booking conditions apply within 21 days so any last minute changes and you could get caught out. Atm things are still changing all the time so I would wait until picture is clearer.

Yes, too risky to be booking anything at the moment. Loads of hassle to re-book, mess about with vouchers or chase up refunds. Wait until all this is over.

I wouldn't spend money I couldn't afford to lose. Lots of travel companies are going to go tits up over this and you'll lose your money regardless of t&c if that happens.

I would not book anything for a while. Too much worry about having to cancel and get a refund. Wait until much nearer the time.

I haven’t seen any money back from travel I booked for March or May 20 yet. And probably won’t either.

It’s highly likely that every traveller will have to have the Covid vaccine, and show proof of it before they are even allowed into the airport. Temperature will also be taken before entry and probably also before boarding the plane. Greece are very insistent on this. Given we don’t know how many people will have been vaccinated before May, and adding on the 12 weeks before the second booster dose, I’d not expect to be able to fly until later summer. Unless you want to spend a significant amount of money on private vaccinations for your family.

I saw something from AirAsia saying they expect no travel in Asia without vaccine but not sure how that would work with kids as not tested on children so they can't be vaccinated. At the moment you can't get private vaccines for it and when I looked at the list would be 2022 before I would be able to get one though that keeps changing, DH can get it 2021 but kids can't get until adults.
