Time share holiday- scam or genuine deal?

This morning I had a letter, recorded delivery, saying I had won a holiday to the value of £3750. Once I got over my excitement, I googled the company only to find that they were a timeshare company and a few people were calling it a scam. I'm sure someone on here said they used these holidays as cheap holidays to their advantage, so it may still be a good thing, but I wanted your advice please. It was a competition I had entered, so it is at least partly true, and the terms and conditions did set out that a fee would be payable to cover some admin costs (£200-£300 I believe).
What do you think?

could just be marketing. they set up a competition, you enter with your details, you fit their profile so they make sure you "win". You pay some costs so they're not out of pocket. They give you some accom at their resort for a week. Bet they don't pay the flights.

You probably also have to attend a sales whilst you're there.

Probably OK though I'm not sure YOU should have to part with any money, and certainly don't give your cc details if you do.

Would not touch this with a long pole. There's no such thing as a free holiday, that's a ploy used to draw the punters in.

We've had several like this in the past . Did go to a presentation or two. On one we also went to the chateau in France which they intended to upgrade (boy did it need it !) for a "free" holiday and we took ds to DLP for the day. For another we'd have had to pay admin and booked flights through them at their timing and choice of destination and it was exorbitant for the amount of hard sell involved so didn't bother. The value they place on the holiday is very subjective so don't be misled.
