Which Disneyland hotel?

Hi

I’m looking to book a trip to Disneyland Paris eith my 3 year old. Staying in the Disneyland hotel has always been on my bucket list. But I’m wondering if it worth the extra cash compared to either the Newport bay club hotel or the marvel hotel.

Has anyone stayed in either hotel and is it worth paying more?

We stayed in the Santa Fe which is (or was 5 years ago) the cheapest on site hotel (the Davy Crockett was a drive). The advantages for us were entry to the park an hour before the day crowds. A lot of time is spent queuing so from that point of view it was worth it and we used the fast pass system early in the day to reserve slots on really popular rides. We travelled by Eurostar and your luggage is taken straight to the hotel allowing you to go straight into the park.

The Santa Fe itself in terms of a hotel was a giant ochre coloured concrete block and our room had a vague smell of drains. It wasn’t the loveliest! To be honest though, we didn’t spend very much time there and it’s likely you wouldn’t either so I’m not sure it’s worth splurging on a hotel you might not spend much time in.

We’ve been going to DP since it opened and have been to Sequoia Lodge ( very nice ) , Newport Bay ( I dislike it ) , the Hotel New York and Disneyland hotel . Hotel New York ,was lovely and I’ve not been since they went Marvel , personally I’d rather they left it alone as it was beautifully themed and at Christmas was lovely . For the past 5/6 years we’ve stayed at Disneyland hotel and for us it’s worth the extra money to be so close to the main park as my daughter has CFS . The Newport bay is huge , and on the couple of occasions I’ve stayed there I’ve not been impressed even on the Captains floor ( or whatever the better bit is called) , the restaurants are crazily busy and all the public areas have a faint aroma of fish , probably because the restaurants are fish based .

We have stayed at both DLH and NPB, and while we loved the DLH, the pool was actually nicer at NPB. The only really bonus to the DLH is the location - there's something really satisfying about being back in your room minutes after leaving the parks. Both hotels do character meet and greets
I wouldn’t hesitate to go with the cheapest. I think maybe it's only worth staying at DLH if you get a really really good deal.

Hi

I have stayed at the Cheyenne, DLH and off site near Val d'Europe.
I think time of year is worth consideration as strolling back in the warm light evenings is lovely, as is the 5 min walk back to the DLH in the snow!
The DLH is incredible and I would choose it for convenience and luxury. The meal plan options are worth considering too as we got the Princess Lunch and Inventions included with the DLH, both of which are lovely.

Look at annual pass and stay in hotel eylesse

I always stay at the DLH and would certainly recommend it with a 3 year old. It is so easy to jump in and out of the park. We always go in for opening, stay a couple of hours and then leave for breakfast. All very quick and easy. Breakfast is a full array of food opposed to a smaller continental selection at the others. We fill ourselves up and that lasts until dinner.

That said, I only book it when free dining is on so we could get Inventions and Buffalo Bills (now shut sadly).

I have been quite a few time before so experienced when it comes to DLP and I’d rather do 2 or 3 nights at the DLH than 4 or 5 at one of the others. It will really depend on your budget though.

I depends on your attitude and budget. If you want the best hotel in the best location, you can’t beat the big pink one. If you’d rather have more spending money or go for more nights. any of the others are fine. They’ve all really nice. Some people like to pay more for a pool but we found we didn’t have time to use it. My personal favourite is the sequoia lodge, it’s got a very cosy vibe and you can have a room in the main building and then after a night in the restaurant or bar you only have to go upstairs to bed. However, I also love the Santa Fe and the Cheyenne and the stroll to the parks from those hotels is safe and picturesque. Can’t fault any of them really (other than the price!)

CoolShoeshine · 17/01/2021 23:07

Ps whichever one you choose you can visit the others for drinks or dinner or just to check them out (unless that has changed in recent years). So for a mid afternoon break from the parks you can pop in the pink hotel for a drink and rest or to look in the shop and then quickly pop back to the parks once recharged.

We’ve stayed in Sequoia and Newport. Personally I preferred Sequoia. Although the communal areas of Newport were fancier the actually rooms were rather tired and the bathroom shower was awful.
Had a lovely meal at Newport though.

Stayed in DLH and Cheyenne. They are poles apart and DLH wins by a mile. It did however, cost a hell of a lot more. I would never stay in any other hotel than DLH from now on. Staying there makes everything so much easier - from getting off the Eurostar to getting into the park first to having Disney Characters roaming the hotel to getting access to restaurants in the parks to fast track for the rides. There really is no comparison.
Do it OP.

I stayed in the DLH 2 years ago with my sister and niece
We got an amazing deal £2700 for a week in the Feb half term
Full board ( free dining )
So breakfast and character dinner in the hotel every night
And a character lunch every day in various restaurants around the resort
We did have to book the character restaurants in advance by about a month but it was 100 percent worth it
We also got the Wild West show tickets as well
Inc fast pass and park tickets and Upgraded first class Eurostar tickets m
We had a room overlooking the park with two double beds so plenty of room for the 3 of us
We booked in Dec and went in the Feb
I think Dec -Nov is best time to book for the best deals
We had a fabulous week even in Feb the weather was nice enough to just wear a t-shirt and light sweater
