So one night dh said 'I'd be upset if our dcs didn't want to spend any of their 40th birthday with us. We should do something with my parents etc."

And instead of saying, 'Go on then' (note to self) instead I have asked his parents, brothers, their wives, various children to meet us for lunch on Sunday. THIS Sunday.

The area we agreed on was sort of welsh borders/ gloucestershire/ worcestershire.

OH FGS. They keep emailing me. I'm chasing my tail. Does anyone know good pub for excellent food and then place of local interest in that area. Please?

You got 1 out of 3 right!

A guy called Tim was the Bar Manager (or was it Asst Hotel Manager?) when I was there

Boogalooblue · 13/10/2007 20:34

So wasn't it owned by David and Pinkie Elliston then?

BettyBatShapedSpaghetti · 13/10/2007 20:38

Yes -I think they've had it for donkeys years. Have they still got it now? I presume they have.

I'm due to go out for the night in Ledbury soon with some old school friends but never quite know where to go other than the Feathers. Some of the pubs have changed dramatically since I was an underage drinker !

Boogalooblue · 13/10/2007 20:44

As far as I know they still own it. Still best place to go as far as we are concerned.

So do you know lots of the rugger buggers then?

BettyBatShapedSpaghetti · 13/10/2007 20:52

Not really. I knew a few from my days working in Fuggles (is it still called that or did they drop that name?) but then moved away for about 15yrs .

I still have some contacts back there but mainly female friends, most of which have moved back there after being away elsewhere.

I take it you've moved far away now?

Boogalooblue · 13/10/2007 21:27

Yep, we have moved far far away.

Is still the fuggles or was last time I was there.

Don't think we overlapped, we may have done for 6 months or so ?

Did/do you know any of the young farmers - aren't very young anymore

BettyBatShapedSpaghetti · 13/10/2007 21:56

Once again I probably knew them then but not any more. I think some of my school contemporaries were connected with them (in fact I think one or two married them).

I was walking through Ledbury recently and couldn't believe how its changed. There are some lovely shops now compared to when I lived there. I mean, you can even buy decent clothes there now !!

Boogalooblue · 13/10/2007 22:12

lots of yummy organic food shops now.

Bibi Boutique in Homend has good second hand kids clothes.

I'm sure we have walked past each other in previous lives .

Isn't it a lovely place to live?

BettyBatShapedSpaghetti · 15/10/2007 09:53

Sorry I didn't get back to this the other night but someone "broke" MN so I ended up going to bed early (TV was pants and DP was out so no option).

We actually live in a nearby town now but visit regularly.

As a teenager it was pretty boring -nothing aimed at that age group other than the youth club (and that was too scary to contemplate ). Once we got to about 16 though you could quite easily go to pubs providing you kept a low profile and then at 17 everyone learned to drive so we could get out of town !

Its strange though how many friends have moved back to the area after being away.

So ahundredtimes, Sunday is now nearly over, where did you end up and was it any good [nosey emoticon].

I was down in Ledbury this weekend and the Feathers was as lovely as ever.

You certainly had good weather for it
