we are going to orlando in March/April,children are 14,11 and 6 (all boys)we haven't been before should we do two weeks in Orlando,we are planning villa with pool or should we do one week here and one on the coast or is that making life too complicated (we have a tendanccy to this!)?

Overwhelmed with choices and decisions any help welcome!!!!

Floaty we're hoping to do the same- my sis & family are being posted to Trinidad so we're meeting "halfway" !

There is so much choice isn't there? We're going for a villa & pool (there will be some stay at home days when we're theme-parked out I anticipate)

I have been guided towards this link

www.thedibb.co.uk which seems great.

Good luck I'll be watching any replies you get to this !

Hi,
Ooo lucky you! We have been twice with our trio, first time we spent 12 nights in a villa in Orlando, then 8 nights in a beach house on Anna Maria Island which was just lovely. The only thing was I was the one who got bored after 3 or 4 days, missed the buzz of the parks! Last year we went back and had three weeks purely in Orlando, as the kids were older we had so much more we wanted to do. We are thinking of going again next year, all depends on if we move house! Let me know if I can help further!

FloridaKbear · 14/10/2007 22:31

I'm going too, I'm going too - three weeks in Orlando overdosing on parks and fun fun fun.

I'm exhausted just reading the book about it!

triplets · 14/10/2007 22:34

Oh fab, where are you staying in the end, just been reading your other thread!

FloridaKbear · 14/10/2007 22:37

Port Orleans Riverside (I think)!!! Can't believe we're going. Been talking DH into for 17 years so not bad progress I thought!

triplets · 14/10/2007 22:42

Sounds wonderful, there is just so much to do, we had full intentions of taking time out, staying at the villa and just lazing around, but it hardly ever happened, my three were up for it all the time, and they were 7 &9 when they went! This summer we have just spent 4 weeks touring west coast USA, fab, ended up in Disneyland for the last three days just to finish it off for them, wonderful wonderful holiday!

FloridaKbear · 14/10/2007 22:46

Relatives there want to take us on a road trip too for a few days so not sure where we'll end up. After spending two weeks in a rainy tent this summer, I can't wait to get on that plane!! Our marriage couldn't take another wet week in Weymouth!

bossybritches · 15/10/2007 10:19

We're hoping to hire a huge villa with pool & use it as our base. We're not sure how it'll work out with holidays etc as Easter is early, & the kids holidays are actually later aren't they? Might work out in our favour if the US holidays are rigidly stuck to the Easter w/e anyone know?

Also anyone know of the nicest area for hiring? They all look nice but some are brand spanking new & we don't want to be on a building site! Kissimee looks good & not too far from the Parks.Looking at the DIBB web-site I'm overwhelmed by the variety of parks on offer. We'll have children of 13,11,9, & 7 between us so any suggestions welcome. I have Sea World & Epcot on my list as having enjoyed them before (whe I was a chikld so obviously they have moved on a bit since then!!)

I did a bit of research because was worried about the school holiday factor. It seems that the US spring breakl ends easter monday but am hoping to get more info from US friends.

We are hoping to geta villa and pool as well, probably in kissimee..does that sound Ok?

Never done Sppring as always been in summer school holidays. My parents have been earlier in the year and really enjoyed it.

Both times(DD was 2y4m and 4y2m) a nearby villa with its own pool, and car. But TBH we tend to do parks every single day, all day every day at that, lol We'd planned to have the odd day out but not a chance in the end. We did the four Disney parks, the two Universal parks, Sea World, Space Centre (on first trip only) and the water parks. I think I managed half a day of shopping in the end. DD just loved it and couldn't get enough!

GrumpyOldHearsewoman · 15/10/2007 10:45

Spring is perfect in Florida.

Definitely go 2 centre - the thought of spending more than a few days in Orlando makes me break out.

here is very nice, but then I would say that, because it is my Mum and Dad's house! Check their other listings by clicking on the link, as they have another, bigger house that may suit. I would highly recommend, though. It's very near paradise (google Boca Grande, or Gasparilla Island).

bossybritches · 15/10/2007 11:20

Floaty shall we just rent a whole complex in Kissimee & sub-let to MN-ers??!!

tiredemma · 15/10/2007 11:25

Avoid the easter week like the plague if you can. We had two weeks there in april this year- the first week being easter, and Im sure most of america went to florida- It was so crowded, its was so frustrating!

bossybritches · 15/10/2007 11:36

Temma- that's where I'm hoping we'll benefit through missing the Us easter break....off to google US holidays!

bossybritches · 15/10/2007 11:42

seems they only take a long w/e over Easter. Do they not have a longer Spring holiday? I know they break up earlier than us for the summer.

floaty · 15/10/2007 16:51

we are thinking of going to the Westridge Flororida villas, hsa anyone stayed there? Also tossing up wether to pay the extra and fly schedules with virgin or go with charter fight, has anyone done the charter flights is it really cramped the difference is about £500 for the sheduled.

OP posts:
Hulababy · 15/10/2007 20:17

Went with Virgin last time. Didn't think they offered anything more than any standard airline TBH. Flight service wasn't as good as we were expecting IYSWIM.

Can I recommend the villas at www.regalpalms.com we are just back from there. 20 mins from Disney and the whole complex was lovely. Large Publix supermarket just around the corner. We staye din a 4 bed house and it was huge - we are a family of 5 and only used 3 of the rooms. Also there is a downstairs bedroom and ensuite which is ideal if anyone is bringing parents with them as it gives them their own privacy.

totsjunction · 14/02/2008 19:10

Hi
We stayed at Regal Palms was it your 1st visit? I felt I was missing something after staying in the middle of all the action normally, it was very quiet.......but the Publix was good prefer it to Walmart!

If you are looking for a wonderful Villa I recommend you stay here www.platinumvillas.com perfect for all the attractions and is the cleanest home we have ever stayed in, also south facing no sitting out the front to get the sun as we have experienced before.
