Does anyone know of a nice b&b in Blackpool, it will be for 2 adults and one child who is 2 years old.

Depends when you are going, if its during half term you may have to take what you can get and not be too choosy! We went for 1 night about 3 yrs ago with 2 children then about 3 & 6 and booked at the last minute and paid about £70 for the four of us for one night b n b and really the only thing it had going for it was the location - very near the Pleasure Beach. We were on the top floor in a room with a double bed plus another sort of bed on the floor, you could hardly put a foot down on the floor as there was no space! On our other numerous trips we have stayed in the Premier travel Inn either the one near the airport or the 'central' one whihc again is very near the pleasure beach. You normally pay about £50 a night for a room for four and breakfast is extra at the pub next door but is really nice. £7.50 for adults and free for children

Great minds think alike. I was just searching for the same thing! Was thinking of having the first family trip away. Is Premier Travel Inn sprog friendly? Are the rooms suitable for a tribe of four? The price looks good.

I think its twinsetandpearls?

DabblesInDarknessWithALightOn · 11/10/2007 23:12

isn't 'nice' and 'blackpool' in the same sentance an oxymorao?

Theresa · 12/10/2007 15:06

Yes puddingz prem travel inn are lovely, don't know age of your children ours are 5 & 9 and you get a double bed, a sofa bed (whihc DH usually sleeps in as the kids take 'turns each' with me in the double!) and the fourth bed is one that comes out from underneath the sofa I think amd so it's kind of a mattress on the floor, prob not idedal for a 'child' in their teens as its a bit smaller than a std single but again DH (bless him) has been on there during the musical beds game! The beds are comfy the rooms are a nice standard and there is still space to walk around with all four beds made up! Breakfast is usually in the pub next door

I know what you mean dabbles - i am looking for a long w/e away with dh and my 2 (3&18mths) was devasated when i found out legoland shut for the winter now have hols in November and nowhere to go. Travel from Scotland so blackpool fairly handy and know lots to amuse 3 year old but would prefer all the fun without the blackpool - any suggestions?

When are you going? The Hilton works out quite cheap at times and children stay and eat free.
My daughter and I are going next year for 4 nights and it's costing £65 a night, for bed and breakfast with evening meal on the 1st and 3rd night. You pay the price of the first night for the whole stay, so can be cheap if the first night you choose is at a cheap rate.

Got a nice pool and is in a nice location, quieter end of Blackpool.

We went earlier this year and had a great time there. Also look at Tripadvisor to check out the reviews on b&bs and hotels.

Forgot to say that the £65 a night would apply if I'd been staying with dh and daughter as well. That is, it's not a per person rate but a per room rate.

i live in the northwest, and for what it's worth would say see if the chadwick hotel is in your price range - stayed there it was lovely tho a while ago, saw it last week and it still looked like it was doing well; otherwise suggest staying at the St Annes end of B/pool it isn't too far out but prob nicer for families, less drunken stag do's etc

mustsparkleandburnmore · 05/11/2007 21:59

We went to one called the Wildlife Hotel. But that was many moons ago; prob about 15 yrs ago It was very cute though, with great food!

Milliways · 05/11/2007 22:01

Bubblerock used t own a (very nice) B&B in Blackpool. She still lives there though and knows the area, so why not CAT her?

boo64 · 05/11/2007 22:20

Giggle St Annes is not part of Blackpool ! I say this as someone who grew up in Lytham St Annes and we are far classier than the Blackpool folk!

Actually it really is a separate town.

Anyway, splitting hairs aside, I totally agree staying in St Annes would be a great move - it is actually really nice there but within easy reach of Blackpool. There's a huge empty beach (ok not sunbathing weather but it's nice for walks) and kids' stuff like little trampolines on the front.
I'd also thoroughly recommend a trip to Lytham -really pretty, mainly Victorian with lots of little shops and boutiques and quite upmarket...unlike Blackpool

gigglewitch · 05/11/2007 22:52

boo64 of course it is a separate town - soooo much nicer
how rude of me to assume that the proximity makes it part of Blackpool
We get the same deal living a mere 12 miles away from Liverpool as a 'suburb'...

I love the prom and the lighthouse, and there is the nicest chippy in the northwest (aarrrgh there i go again. will get shot for that one too)

boo64 · 06/11/2007 14:09

ooh giggle - which chippy? We love fish and chips so next time I go I can make sure we check that one out.

Lytham is so pretty - I think it's really surprisingly unknown considering what a lovely place it is. Still, keeps the hordes away!

binkleandflip · 06/11/2007 14:18

boo64, I live in Lytham (so am classy, like) but born and bred in Blackpool so dont diss the sandgrowns!!

boo64 · 06/11/2007 14:40

Hey I was born in Blackpool too and went to school there, my parents moved to Lytham when I was little but once a sandgrownun always one (haven't heard that term for ages - it made me smile - I don't live round there anymore so don't hear it)

bummer the hilton is booked, the chadwick falls outwith my budget...searching trip advisor now.
Thanks for all your help

SpiritualKnot · 06/11/2007 20:49

Always looking here and then checking out the hotels mentioned, on Tripadvisor.

superbreak offers.

There's not many on offer but worth a look.

We went very cheap to Manchester last week through Superbreak.

SpiritualKnot · 06/11/2007 20:52

Seems to go their homepage, not the page I saved. Go to offers, then Northwest and Blackpool.

There's 2 special offers at the moment and they're all free child places with 2 paying adults.

Cheers Milliways You're right, I still live in the Hotel but it's not a Hotel anymore (before you all turn up on my doorstep).

When are you looking at coming SS? The trams have just been taken off for repairs to the tracks and the illuminations are over now so it will be quieter which is actually quite nice.

bubblerock · 06/11/2007 21:18

Try The Fylde The people who run it are lovely!

You can check Laterooms too.
