Quarantine check ups after holiday - how do they work?

Has anybody actually experienced follow up texts or calls since coming back off holiday and going into 14 days quarantine? Just wondering what to expect.

Came back from Spain, work from home, filled in form but no one asked for it at Heathrow. Young lads on the plane behind me hadn’t bothered and said they would only fill in if asked and claim ignorance.

Have they got away with being under the radar and won’t be called?

Sad to say ... probably.... if they weren't questioned about the form at Heathrow!

That is disgusting. We are making some inconvenient changes to ensure we stick to it and some irresponsible young people get away with it.

What a joke.

My friend recently returned from Spain and went back to work a few days later. She’s again overseas and won’t be quarantining when she returns as doesn’t have enough leave she says.
I’ve another friend who has also recently returned from another European country on the list but didn’t quarantine.
I don’t think any checks are being made are they? They could check forms against passenger lists but if checks aren’t even being made, they’ll not be doing this.
It’s no wonder cases are rising. My friends are in their 40s and 50s and I’m pretty pissed off at their disregard for these rules.

We have been back over 2 weeks now. No checks at Heathrow, no phone calls or texts to any of us (although they did ask DS's why he couldnt take a phone call). You have an option to say texts only. People who work from home are constantly on the phone but apparently you have to state WHY you cannot take a random call at anytime - because I could be on an important call and cannot jump everytime a call comes in whilst I am on another (numpty question IMHO).

So no checks whatsoever...

There was an article in my local newspaper about a young man, I think he is 25 or 26 , from one of the towns near me that was supposed to quartine. He gave the wrong phone number ( he gave his dad's mobile number) when borders agency couldn't get in touch with him the police was sent around to do a check up visit. He claims he didn't have a mobile that's why he If I can find the article I will repost because I can't remember the outcome.

Have a read if this. They traced a phone and realised it wasn't staying in one place.

I think for Spain it’s only ten days isolation now

?? I'm not sure that's right but very happy to be corrected..

AFAIK it's a straight binary choice ATM: either zero quarantine if a country is on the UK Gov "travel corridor" list or fourteen days if it isn't.
