Family holiday without DH

Am wondering if other couples are considering/ planning for one parent to take the kids on holiday and the other to stay at home? Because of coronavirus, lots of my friends seem to be doing this because they've been on top of one another with schools closed, and both been working from home. But I am nervous that it's a lot of work on your own away with the kids! Has anyone done this before - and do they have any tips?
DH hasn't been able to do much work in lockdown so it would allow him to catch up on work too, whereas I'm more used to working in a noisy environment!

I did it last year for May half term, DD (then 11) and I went to Amsterdam for 5 days.
We liked it but I wouldn't have done it at an earlier age and definitely not longer.

I'm doing it, only to Devon for 5 days with 2 kids 10&14.
We're going somewhere where we've been before (many years ago) so I sort of know the lay of the land. Staying in a b&b so I'll only have to find evening meals and we've sort of planned the trip ahead of time so we have an itinerary that everyone has agreed on.
Touch wood we don't have many "I'm bored " moments 😁

I went away to Barbados with just my DD in February because my son was away skiing with school and my DH was saving his holiday entitlement for our main Easter and Summer holiday ( annoyingly both were cancelled and he now has loads of holiday entitlement left over!)
I was nervous about it but I booked an all inclusive deal to make it easier ( wouldn't usually do that if were all away together )
It was fine - just a bit lonely in the evenings after dinner when DD went to sleep. Luckily I had a nice terrace which was practically on the beach so I just sat and read my book out there every evening after dinner.
Husband now away for a holiday with DS while I stay at home with DD because she has to self isolate due to having surgery.

I did it for the last two years . Was nervous as I haven't flown for 20 years. I got advise on here about airports, and did lots of research on accessibility of taxis etc, and things to do so that I could appear super confidentwhen we arrived.
It was fine.. if Dh was with us we may have done different stuff but actually we had a great time and the dc took a bit more responsibility for things then they would have normally.
