Anyone going to Canary Island against FCO advice?

We were due to go Las Palmas 03 Aug but FCO advice against non essential travel. I had booked the flights and accommodation on 25 July and the advice came in place on 27th( bad luck) so we wont be eligible for any refund or change of dates ( I have checked already).
Part of me wants to go because I Know Canary Island would be much safer than East London's and the COVID cases are significantly lower than London, but I know our travel insurance wont cover us.
We are a family of 4, kids over 12 yrs.
What would you do ?

Try Battleface insurance and others are coming into the market to save Spanish hols this summer. Great article in the Telegraph and it would be about £100 for the four of you. Money saving expert also talks about it. It won’t cover cancellation because that is a known event but providing the lockdowns don’t get worse I will be buying it even though I had insurance before,

You will of course need to self isolate when you return. My job allows me to do this.

I am in exactly the same position as you. Non refundable apartment on one of the islands. It would haunt me forever if I paid for the apartment and never stayed there. It was rather expensive as well....

The article in the Daily Telegraph tipped me off.

Of course we could lockdown before I go which is end of August but you should be fine. Although the quarantine is a real pain we have a big house, sky tv, Netflicks etc. I work at home so I have accepted what I need to do. Quarantine might even reduce from current 14 days due to testing option.

We have decided to ahead :)
Once again thanks a lot for the recommendation. The insurance quote came £78, so not bad.
