Would you stay in a travel Inn ?

We are trying to decide whether to have a short break during school hols, obviously abroad is out of the question so we are looking at Travel inns in vacinity of picturesque locations in England including Norfolk. Trouble is I am nervous about staying at a hotel/travel in at this time. Are you all risking it / taking relevant precautions? Or are we taking too much of a risk?

There is no such thing as a travel inn. There are premier inns and there are travel lodges.

Premier inns are better in my opinion but it depends a lot on how old they are. The modern ones are better and I’ve always found them to be really clean.

I think decisions about the virus are yours to make.

Premier inns are indeed better, and more expensive. I used to stay in Travel lodges a couple of times a year, but the standard has dropped a bit and I do tend to avoid them now.

We love Premier Inn.

My parents paid for a London theatre trip as a Christmas present and offered to pay for a nice hotel but we preferred to book a Premier.

We have regularly stayed at Travelodges too but I am a little more picky as to location.

I was about to book a Premier Inn for an overnight stay after reading about the precautions being taken but the Drive in event we were going to was cancelled.

We stayed in two different Premier Inns the week before last. Both very clean, very safe and very strict. Felt really safe.

Premier inns are fine. Never stayed in a Travelodge.

We've stayed in a travel lodge this weekend. Immaculately clean and felt very safe. Bargain price if all you are using the room for is to sleep/as a base

I've received emails from a few hotel chains, including travel lodge and they seem to have various procedures in place, varies by hotel but include all staff wearing masks, socially distanced check-in, no housekeeping visits during your stay (or 1 every 5 days) etc, no buffets etc.

I suggest checking out the websites and seeing if you're comfortable with their covid procedures?

How about Linton Travel Tavern?

Equidistant between London and Norwich. 😁

fluffi · 19/07/2020 20:17

I'm not sure if I'd personally risk it ... maybe if no housekeeping and all staff are wearing masks and I could have room service dropped off outside my room ... sometimes I do fancy going to the coast Smile

We have just booked a Premier Inn for the end of August. They are doing extra cleaning and I will take wipes just for a quick wipe down.

AriettyHomily · 19/07/2020 20:28

Yep I would stay in a premier inn, what's a travel inn?

Comefromaway · 19/07/2020 20:29

Premier are washing bedding etc in disinfectant

sqirrelfriends · 19/07/2020 20:39

I've always found premier inns to be brilliant- Really clean and nice beds. I've stayed in far more expensive places that I can't say that about.
