Ryanair - flights tomorrow but due to Covid decided to cancel ...how?

We were due to fly to Berlin tomorrow but have decided in light of current situation we're not bothering. Cost is less than £300 so whilst crap, not end of the world. The flights still going ahead so there's no chance of a refund and I'm not sure when we'd want to go in the near future to bother with trying to rearrange flights and be charged extra anyway.

I've never cancelled a flight before Confused and looking on their website I'm reading you can't actual cancel, it's just a case of not turning up. As far as I can see there isn't any charge if we don't.

Is it just as simple as not turning up? Feels weird!

You just don't turn up. I was told this by BA when I wanted to cancel one a flight with them.

I have no idea what I did with the second sentence!

"I was told this by BA when I wanted to cancel a flight with them."

If you cancel you are entitled to a refund if taxes and charges. However, the cancellation fee usually makes it not worth your while. Just don't show.

You pair are great ... thanks for such super quick replies, I'm pacing the kitchen a bit wanting to "get it done" so I really appreciate it Grin

Cool. I shall just sit tight. Then have a little weep in the morning when I should be Deutschland bound!

Don’t bother cancelling OP, those seats have been paid for, don’t give Ryanair the chance to resell them. They owe so many people money including myself. No shows happen all the time. You have made the right decision IMHO, I think it is totally irresponsible to travel internationally during a pandemic, who wants to sit on a plane & travel through airport in a mask, I know I couldn’t do it.

CassandraCross · 19/07/2020 16:25

I thought they'd dropped the charges for changing/rearranging flights? As others have said and as weird as it seems you just don't turn up if you decide not to go!

TeetotalKoala · 19/07/2020 16:27

Yep, just no show. We did that once when we changed our mind about a weekend in Switzerland (we booked the flights on impulse). It was a bit of a kick in the teeth to watch our plane fly directly over our house though.

We booked them back in January so aren't entitled to any fee free changes unfortunately.

It just seemed really odd that there isn't actually a way to cancel Confused

And I'm in agreement that their service had been so bad for so many I'd be happy for them to not be able to resell and mean the plane is less full (but flying anyway so costing RA fuel).

Thanks all'
