Should I say anything to nasty dad?

DD had a school friend over to play this afternoon. I know her mother quite well, but know the father by sight only. The child mentioned in conversation that her daddy couldn't remember my name and had given a description of me to the child's mother to confirm my identity. It was really the most cruel and hurtful description I've ever heard, and was definitely something the child had overheard and was repeating.

I am so hurt and have been thinking about it all evening. DH has been sympathetic, but says I have over reacted and should forget it.

I feel bruised and angry. Obviously I don't blame the child, but should I let on that I know what he has been saying?

I have to face the mother tomorrow who will not know that I know.

Go for it Deedee.
Freak the bastard right out!

Happynow · 27/09/2007 23:34

Sorry to point this out ... but imo the guy has to be gay! And a wicked old queen to boot! What sort of man makes a statement like that? Ok, get some moisturer - we all need that - but what kind of man talks like that? Never met any. In denial for sure!

cornsilk · 27/09/2007 23:35

When you're talking to him stare at his nose and kind of wipe yours. He'll think he's got a bogey hanging out.

moondog · 27/09/2007 23:35

Or laugh and nudge someone else as he walks up near you.

Elasticbandstand · 27/09/2007 23:38

ask him what moisturiser he recommends?
no i like the looking at the nose one
or wipe just next to your lip and he will think he has crumbs round his chops

Happynow · 27/09/2007 23:38

Is he such a beautiful specimen himself? Tell us about him OP? Go on ...

DeedeePickles · 27/09/2007 23:39

You are SO right.

When I next see that boat-shoe-wearing-gay-bogey-hanging-out bastard, I'll have a few handy tricks up my sleeve to freak him out with

That's the spirit.
Or how about sometnig like
'Oh there was a policeman here just a minute ago asking for you.'

Happynow · 27/09/2007 23:41
Grin
DeedeePickles · 27/09/2007 23:42

Happynow Annoyingly he is pleasant looking with smart clothes. Can't think of anything nasty to say about him.

I'm too nice for this malarkey.

Evil me up you lot, go on

From a distance glance in the direction of his fly with a puzzled/shocked look and snigger as he fumbles about to make sure he's done up.

Elasticbandstand · 27/09/2007 23:46

he must be gay

Happynow · 27/09/2007 23:46

"pleasant looking with smart clothes"??? Clearly isn't that "pleasant" ... imo!

InMyHumbleOpinion · 27/09/2007 23:50

Smart clothes and bitchy?
GAY.

point him to this hand him a slip of paper with a concerned look on your face.

DeedeePickles · 27/09/2007 23:51

I'll be back to usual cheerful self tomorrow.

Thanks everyone, feel much better. x

Love, I just think life's too short to worry about what some old t*sser is saying about you. Laugh it off/don't listen. Try not to be too sensitive because you never understand other people's faults and neither should you. You sound lovely to me! Is that not enough? Be happy, don't look back! All good wishes x

I think I would say "hi, my name is XXX, otherwise known as (his description of you)" when you see him next.
