Has anyone been to this CP in France? We are considering it for late August (Corona allowing) - would love to hear any reviews...

We've been here. End of June 2018.

Positives
Very good price compared to UK center parcs.
Extremely easy to get to by car.
Local town very close and has a massive Carre-four for groceries.
Clean apartment was very comfortable, spacious with everything you need.
Lovely patio area.
Swimming pool complex was absolutely fantastic.
Spacious grounds.

Negatives
Need to speak some French
Not much atmosphere
Bit run down at the lake
No oven or air con
Restaurants only adequate.
No evening activities
Much less to do in the day compared to UK parks except the fantastic pool complex.

Ask me anything else.

Oh so useful @Serena1977 thank you. Does the lake have a beach area for the kids? Is part of the swimming complex indoors and is the water heated? How big is the site - compared to UK Center Parcs if you've been or compared to something else - will the kids be able to walk around it comfortably (7 and 4)?

@MissusMaker

The lake does have a beach area which was nice and a small part of the lake has ropes round it for a bit of paddling.

The indoor and outdoor swimming complex was heated to normal swimming pool temp with the usual chairs etc round it. It really was very big and wonderful.

The sites are comparable to UK Center Parcs and very similar with the wildlife\trees etc.

Kids did pony trekking, treetop walking and quad biking.

The activities were no where near as good as the UK. The instructions for the quad biking were given using the mobile phone of the staff member using google translate which is why I mentioned being able to speak French. Also, health and safety was a lot less compared to UK center parcs.

Kids of that age could walk round it, no problem.

We went during the world cup 2018 and by the Friday afternoon the village has got a lot busier with groups of friends moving in, which changed the atmosphere and became quite rowdy.

We went for 1 week and came home a day early, left on the Saturday morning instead of Sunday morning, we had a flexi ticket on the ferry There wasn't enough to do with a lively son of 5 and daughter of 6 except the pool and beach. The activities were poor and nothing like the range you can get here eg. no crafts, no sports like badminton, roller skating etc, no wildlife based ones but you could always explore the local area, it did seem pretty.

We spent quite a bit in and around the villa because it was so comfortable, reading and chilling whilst the kids coloured, played games or played on ipad.

Hope that helps.

If there's anything else, please ask.

@MissusMaker

The other thing I must mention, cars are allowed around the park at any time.

I haven’t been to any of the French parks but if you fancy trying a European CP I really recommend De Vossemeren in Belgium!

In France? Wow.

Midges were horrendous...I was eaten alive. The temp. was high and with no air con it was very uncomfortable at night. I was exhausted when I got home x
