Where's good for a summer holiday in Denmark?

Am thinking of going and quite fancy renting one of those houses near a beach. But we want to be near stuff to do too. Will have a 5 yr old and 18 month year old and will hire a car.

Anyone got anywhere to recommend?

Thanks

VisitDenmark.com

Themeparks

Copenhagen is a lovely city, not been anywhere else though.

Thanks for that. Ive got a couple of guide books from the library but they only mention kids in passing. I found this website for cottages but I need to focus on an area!

We camped in Denmark for a couple of nights after a holiday in Sweden - sadly I have no idea where the campsite was, but we did have a day in Copenhagen and a day at Legoland which is fab (I've never been to the Windsor one but from what I've read about it, the Billund one is miles nicer)

When were you planning to go? Their summer holidays are much earlier than ours, kids go back to school early Aug, which means places are quieter but also means they start to close (we stayed in Sweden on Öland which has lovely beaches and lots of touristy things but half of those were closed already in mid-late August. I'm pretty sure Denmark is the same, Legoland when we went was full of non-Scandiwegians.
