Just booked flights for a 3 night trip to Nice in May. SO EXCITED! Just me and my husband Grin

Does anyone have any hotel/airbnb recommendations around the £100 per night mark? We won't have a car so needs to be fairly central.
Also, we only have 2 full days so want to make the most of them - what's worth doing while we're there?

We stayed at the Novotel because it was the cheapest I could find with a pool. Cheap and cheerful, not at all characterful, but I enjoyed the pool!

We stayed in a nice Airbnb last March. Well located, clean and modern, but quite a few stairs.

Hope that link works...

I’d put ‘Nice old town’ into the search bit on AirBnB - last time I did this, it came up with a lot of suggestions! The old town is lovely with lots of shops, bars and restaurants. You can get to the train station on foot but it’s a quick journey on the tram. Don’t stay in the immediate area of the train station as it’s grim! I doubt you’ll find any AirBnB with a pool anywhere in central Nice but go and swim in Villefranche (10 minutes by train) instead. The view once you get into the sea there is gorgeous! The sea in Nice is swimmable too but the beach very steeply slopes into the sea which makes getting in and out a bit of a pain!

Nice is great and I’d spend 2 days just wandering. I like walking down the Promenade at sunset and finding a nice beach bar to have cocktails and watch the sun go down.

The train line at Nice goes along the coast so do days out to the likes of Cannes, Monaco etc. You can book tickets ahead on SNCF and skip the train station queues. Get on the platform early as the trains get busy!

Pack beach shoes and a beach mat as the beaches are rocky. Have a wonderful time, it’s a brilliant place!

Hi OP. We stayed in Nice 6 years ago in a lovely apartment a stones throw from Massena Square.
It was called Aparthotel Ajoupa and had a teeny balcony overlooking the stree. We had our breakfast on it every morning watching the world go by.
Anywhere near Massena Square or The Old Town would be a good choice. Don’t book anywhere round the train station.
With only 2 days I would concentrate on just seeing Nice. A wander round the Old Town, down to the marina to see all the millionaire yachts.
If you decide to do a day trip, I recommend Menton. The train is very easy to use and the stops for Cannes, Monte Carlo and Menton are all on the same line.
The beach is beautiful and there’s lots of nice restaurants.
