Off to Turkey in May so looking on getting a stroller that isn't too flimsy but at the same time not overly bulky!

Also bringing our own baby food, which would be more suitable - jars or pouches?

Definitely pouches because they’re smaller and lighter. You don’t mention a budget- if cost doesn’t matter too much then the babyzen yoyo is the best for travelling.

Was worried about them expanding and bursting with the air pressure? Or does that not happen? I have no idea ha!
Yeah I'm not really fussed about the price, I dont mind paying for something that will make holidaying with a baby manageable especially as it's the first time not just travelling as a couple

The yo-yo does look good if budget isn't a problem. If you get on the plane quite speedy and there is space it can go in the overhead locker. Which is handy because we were waiting for an hour for our stroller at Antalya airport last year. Luckily we only took it as a just in case thing, Dd is perfectly capable of walking/standing while we collected the rest of our luggage but that would have been a pain if she was that little and needed holding.

Silver cross also do a really compact fold stroller now that also fits in the overhead locker. You'd have to google it because I can't remember the name.

I’ve taken pouches loads of times, even as a toddler she’s still partial to those apple sauce ones and we’ve never had an explosion! Although if you do take a sippy cup don’t overfill it as the water can make its way up the straw when the cabin pressurises and then bubble over when you open it, leaving an embarrassing wet patch in your lap. I sadly speak from experience.

It’s worth remembering that baby food and liquid formula over 100ml in your hand luggage needs to be flagged to security at the airport and the separate screening might take a little while so allow some extra time. Also you’re only allowed take a reasonable amount for the flight so by the sounds of it the bulk of your food will need to be in your checked baggage.

I love the YoYo so much we pretty much stopped using our big pram. Most airlines let you on first with kids so the only times I’ve had issue getting it in the overhead has been on tiny planes where it wouldn’t fit- one Swiss airline crew were nice enough to put it in an empty row and we’ve had to gate check once with American on a domestic shuttle flight. BA and EasyJet have always been fine!
