Noma is amazing. I went many years ago before it closed and re-opened. V.expensive but such an experience if you’re into food.

TiVoli was good fun after a few wines. Nyhavn harbourside is lovely and there are restaurants a plenty.

A trip to the palace is worth it, it’s really quite something.

Indre By is Copenhagen’s old town and the city centre. If you want to be in central Copenhagen, with easy access to tourist attractions as well as central station (the public transportation hub) you should stay in Indre By.
Norrebro is just next to Indre By, only a few minutes walk to the city centre and there are lots of budget options. There are also plenty of trendy bars, boutiques and restaurants.
Vesterbro (just behind Tivoli Gardens) has quite a hipster vibe. There are loads of new bars and restaurants, trendy hotels, art galleries, organic markets and vintage shops. If you don’t mind a little noise, the atmosphere is electric. There are some good budget options and it’s handy if you want to stay late at Tivoli (definitely recommended).

I would recommend getting a Copenhagen card, it includes free transport and entry to most museums and touristy places including Tivoli, as well as mini cruises. If you are going with kids, we loved the massive zoo and Experimentarium (science museum). I also loved the Louisiana arts museum although it's a bit of a trek to get there.
