Need recommendations please.
Ideal location would be a hotel with plenty to do (eg waterslides/footy pitch/tennis/pool table) but on the beach and walking distance to nice town. Nothing too remote. Not turkey/egypt/tunisia though. Dont mind what accommodation basis. Ta

Would staying in an all mod cons plus aircon lodge/ mobile on a campsite/ holiday park in Europe appeal? It would fulfil those requirements. If you research it, you could find ones that are located on a beach plus walking distance to a nice town. Companies to look at include Eurocamp/ Yelloh/ Castels/ Human. You can book direct through parks too. I think for us (similarly aged child) they offer more safe space (on the campsite) to be a little independent. He can cycle around park, join in a game of football, hang around the games room and partake of kids' clubs if he fancies it. There just seem to be a lot more children (and adults) out and about than in a hotel.

Definitely agree Neilson- we've just booked for our 4th year with a 12 y old only child. Before that we used to do Eurocamp type holidays, but I still had to do shopping/meal planning/cooking/cleaning and it wasn't nearly such a good break for me.
