Im supposed to be revising but have dragged myself away from it to find a nice restaurant in London for lunch for me and my pals. Somewhere not stuffy, nice- cool - up to approx £25/30 per head.
My friend suggested Claridges but Im looking for other options.

will pop back in a bit once Ive got my head around Diabetic ketoacidosis.

greek place near the globe on the thames is good- is bar more than restaurant though. You can go to oxo tower bar for cocktails.

I went to Kensington Place on Kensington Church St for a girly lunch recently - nice food and venue and not stuck-up at all

I really like The Orangerie restaurant in Hyde Park, near Kensington Palace, you can walk through the park etc.

Do you like Turkish? Try Ozer on Regent Street - they're fab!

8 over 8 on the Kings road - trendy panasian small bites
E&O in Notting Hill (same as 8 over 8, different location)
Itsu in Brompton Cross-conveyer belt sushi place, but this one is more "upscale"
Galvin Bistrot de Luxe on Baker Street-great food, great prices
Tom's Kitchen in Chelsea-Tom Aikin's gastropub
The Salt Yard (Goodge Street)- great tapas
Vinoteca-WIne and cheese and small bites, St. John's street, EC1
The Ebury - in Pimlico, upscale gastropub

This should give you a good place to start
