Can anyone recommend any of the Centre Parcs in Europe please?

We’ve been a couple of times to Woburn, but fancied one on the continent in May.

Last week of August is usually cheap as the Dutch have gone back to school
Also worth a visit to Eftling while you are there. We have added a couple of nights onto holiday and stayed in Waalwijk, but Eftling has its own hotel as well. Last saturday of the season is a bit mad and i would avoid.

We’ve been to De Kempervennen and Port Zelande Center Parcs in Netherlands. Also to Duinrell. For the water park alone, Duinrell wins hands down, we’re going for the 3rd time this summer.
We’d go back to either of the other 2 though, loved the ease of the indoor ski on site at De Kempervennen and at Port Zelande the beaches and lakes nearby for water sports were brilliant.

We went to parc allgau in Germany. Btw all staff etc spoke English but the kids club activities were in German. Didn't affect us as we just used pool / mini golf etc.

MiniMileyMoo · 02/01/2020 15:37

We went to Kempervennen in may and it was fab. Had an Eden cottage which was brill but some of the cheaper accommodation looked pretty poor.

Would definitely do it again.

Missillusioned · 02/01/2020 15:42

Is it possible to do Kempervennen without a car? Which is the nearest airport?

smallchanges1 · 02/01/2020 15:48

MiniMileyMoo were the Eden cottages better than the VIP ones?

De Kempervennen in NL is brilliant. Real snow ski slope with v cheap lessons. Newer lodges around the edge (numbers in the 700s) are very nice.

Bluewavescrashing · 02/01/2020 18:38

We had an Eden cottage.

I think Diunrell looks great for summer holidays when it’s hotter, so now planning to go there for next year’s summer holiday list.

I think we’ll try out Kempervennen this May, in an Eden in the 700s, as the water park & ski slope sound perfect for us.

Quite fancy a German road trip, so Parc Allgau could be on our future wish list.

Thank you all for your help and opinions.

We went to a Landal site in Germany a couple of years ago & it was lovely. Was about £800 for a week in main summer hols. They have lots of sites in Belgium Holland & Germany.
The pool wasn't as amazing as Center Parcs.
Have a look at Duinrell in Holland. They have great water park & some nice Duingalows.

What is the easiest way to get to Duinrell anybody? (Travelling from east Anglia)

converseandjeans · 02/01/2020 23:18

han01 we go Dover Dunkirk but you're best doing Harwich Hook of Holland as Duinrell is really near Hook of Holland.

SellFridges · 02/01/2020 23:22

We went to Les Bois aux Daims. Twice in fact. Great facilities, lots cheaper than UK and generally a great experience.

Did the one at Disney this year and it was OK. Very small. Pool was good.

nofriendsatll · 02/01/2020 23:23

We did six years in a row at de Kempervennen. Loved it. Stopped going when the kids got to mid teens but actually miss it

MamaKarmaLlama · 02/01/2020 23:26

All of these sound great.

han01uk · 03/01/2020 15:46

Has anyone stayed at Le Lac d'Ailette centre parcs please?

ThanosSavedMe · 03/01/2020 15:49

Another vote for de kempervennen, pools are fab, ski centre is fab, staff are amazing but food is shit!

Loveislandaddict · 03/01/2020 16:31

duinrell

Not a Center parcs, but worth considering. It has a good pool , as well as a theme park adjacent to it. Amsterdam is nearby, as well as lovely sandy beaches.

Loveislandaddict · 03/01/2020 16:31

I’ve listed Eurocamp, but lots of tour operators operate there.

Bluewavescrashing · 03/01/2020 16:34

We are going to Lalandia in Denmark this Easter. Massive swimming dome, lodges, lake etc. Right next door to Legoland and close to the Lego House. Close to airport too.

eyeoresancerre · 03/01/2020 16:41

Just jumping on the bandwagon but I've been looking on the websites - can you only stay for a maximum of 4 days?

katewhinesalot · 03/01/2020 16:44

We've been to Hochsauerland in Germany. They've just opened a massive wooden, out of this world, play park. It was amazing for the kids.

Het Heijderbos in The Netherlands had a really good wildlife Dome that had climbing areas etc for the kids.

I agree that the Landal sites, although nice in their own way, don't have the facilities of CP.

Duinrell is fabulous.

katewhinesalot · 03/01/2020 16:46

No, you can stay for any combination of 4 and 3 days, so you can do a week or 10 or 11 days. 2 weeks etc

Changeover days are Mondays and Fridays.

GoodStuffAnnie · 03/01/2020 18:17

The s German one is amazing. Spacious. Brand new. Would go back in a heartbeat.
