Was thinking of buying one of these to take on week long holiday. Has anyone used them, do you think it's worth getting one?

Hi,

I've got one of these - it was given to me by a friend who used it with her son.

My 6 month old DS burns so easily that I use it quite often as it just fits on the pushchair - kind of like a raincover. One of the things I like best is that it gives you total peace of mind!

My friend has warned me that it had a limited life-span with her son - the second year they tried to use it he refused to have it on! He refuses a rain cover too though!

Have fun on holiday!

I've got the Shade a babe!

I've got a shade a babe. It did only last about a year or so with ds1 as he also went crazy in his second year if I tried to use it on his pushchair. However, DS2 is getting full use of it now so it only cost me £15 per child.

Just had a look at the Rayshade and I guess it would depend on the type of pushchair you have and how upright the child is as to whether it would work. Sounds abit of a faff having to adjust it as you move around in the sun , shade a babe looks easier to me but could just be me being lazy [rin]

we have a shade a babe. they are brilliant. especially if the alternative is an ordinary parasol or sun tan lotion. dd is almost completely shaded by the 100% bit and has never burnt under the 'bee keeper' bit either. i am very impressed. we also have their cosy toe, which is also brilliant. apparently you can use both together on a skiing holiday. we have not done this.

i also fancy that the shade a babe makes it a bit darker in the pushchair if she wants to sleep. don't know if i am just fooling myself though. it certainly keeps the wind off her. i could be a representative for shade a babe, i think they are brilliant. this is not the first time i have mentioned them on mn either.

Love my shade a babe... certainly does the job! Take care though...first one i bought off internet had no zip out section at front so it was like baby was wearing a burqua! On offer at Boots for £23.99. Don't know if they're cheaper elsewhere.

Adding a vote of confidence for shade a babe here... we got one when we took ds to portugal - it was brilliant. I am very paranoid about the sun as I am a red head and had sun stroke as a child. I am now using it regularly for dd really can't be too careful with very young children in the sun.

I have a shade a babe - it's great!

I have a Rayshade - had a Shade a Babe but my daughter hated the front mesh and threw a big strop when I put it on so I got a Rayshade instead which has been great and gives excellent shade. I got the normal one but noticed on the site that I bought mine from (sunprotectionstore.co.uk) that they also do a Rayshade with a mesh front that can pulled back so its just a normal Rayshade so you can have the best of both worlds. Think it was on offer for £29.99 and normal one £24.99 inc delivery. Normal one gets my vote though....
