Legoland -is it worth the trek from Yorkshire?

Have 4.2 yr old and 15 month old, really want to go to legoland (tesco vouchers) but obviously it would be big trip.

Has anyone been and is it worth it? Would be looking to go really soon before it closes.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

It is fun for that age but far from the be all and end all of days out iyswim. There will be several rides not suitable for both or the younger one so your time could be divided. For that age group I'd say they can have similar fun closer to home. It doesn't close until end of October/first week November btw.

it is good but very busy

if your 4 year old likes lego then probably worth the trip

hope the vouchers are good as it is very expensive otherwise!
food is ropey - take your own sandwiches!

We live in Newcastle & we went last Easter ds was 4 & dd 7. Neither are particularly into lego. We used Tesco vouchers (whihc are fab!) and our Easter hols were different to 'Southern' schools so it wasnt as busy as it could have been. We combined it with a 5 day trip to London and had 2 days at Legoland, (stayed at travelodge near waterloo) and we loved it. he lego was amazing. The rides were also good, aimed at under 12s I'd say. The advantage of going now wld be that you could go during term time and avboid the queues. You could then easily do it in a day but I think I'd still look for travelodge or something and stay over.

no def not very expensive, we are pretty local and kids round here only ever go on school trips, (where they do computer programming to make lego models move etc.)

Thanks to all, my 4yr old has just started to build stuff but 15 month old destroys it!!!

I have £185 in tesco vouchers so nearly £750 in on-line vouchers (we have their credit card, have our shopping delivered and regularly scan the internet for codes to get more points) We didn't know how much we had till we counted and I need to spend some soon as they will be out of date.

Think we will try to find something closer to home. I am Eureka'd out, maybe York?

We've got over £100 in vouchers which equates to £400+ in deals . Ours love theme parks so that's how we usually spend ours. GThe 'use by' date has never been an issue, however I have thought of saving them up for a holiday and then the 'use by' date would be an issue. I imagined that if you called them and explained you were saving up for something expensive such as a holiday, they would extend the date, maybe cancel the ones you have and issue new ones with a later date on? Have never tried it but I imagined they'd do it. I'd be interested to know what they say if you do contact them.

crikey that is a lot of vouchers! well as it is going to be free go for it! there are loads of reasonable hotels nearby as its near heathrow so you may be able to get whole thing for free

windsor is well worth a day visit so make a weekend of it!
