Has anyone had their picnic confiscated when travelling to France ?!

Reason I'm asking is that DEFRA have said it is illegal to export certain foodstuffs which might spread foot and mouth, and have warned travellers not to take food abroad with them. I am planning to take picnic with us tommorrow when we have our ferry crossing, and wondered how strict they are about this ?
cheers

DEFRA advice

No meat, meat products, milk, milk and dairy products
Ban includes sandwiches, packed lunches and food for self-catering holidays and includes fresh, chilled, frozen, tinned, preserved and processed products.

Sounds pretty strict

Ive taken these products in packed lunches loads of times, but they might be a bit more jumpy at the moment. It would be too humiliating to have your sarnies confiscated, maybe better stick to hummous!

"from 7 August 2007 it is illegal to take.."

oooh, thanks for that, we too are on the ferry tomorrow so it will have to be cucumber and tomato sarnies instead of ham
