Where would you go?

Had thought I was set on Costa Rica, but now looking at Thailand. And Other places. All the places

Want a mix of activities, sunshine, wine, chilling, nice stuff. Want to feel safe and not like the only single in the resort sure buses by families/couples

Open to anywhere really

Whilst I am a total sub worshipper I’m ok with that, esp as I’m hoping to tag 5 nights in Phu Quoc

As soon as you gave your list of things you'd like to do, I thought Cape Town.

I've just come back (travelled alone but stayed with friends) from my most recent trip and I bloody love it there.

Main problem is trying to figure flights from Scotland.

We are flying down to Heathrow (fellow Scot) then direct to Hanoi with Vietnam airlines. Right at the beginning of January, fingers crossed no shitty weather!

Redtartanshoes · 01/11/2019 20:24

Yeah that’s what I’m planning. Looked at Manchester but it’s more expensive and the drive home would be torture

Thailand wellness holiday with yoga you don’t have to do the yoga but there are fewer families and children, more single people.

Nice, good food, zen, luxury

I think it’s gonna be Vietnam 😁

If you are going to Vietnam for 15 days or less you are entitled to a visa waiver so don't have to worry about getting an eVisa or visa on arrival letter.

Redtartanshoes · 03/11/2019 08:58

@nononever that’s really helpful, think it will be 15 days

One thing to make sure re visa waiver, your first day and last day are inclusive of the 15 days. Also when you arrive in Vietnam, have proof of your return flight showing when you leave the country as they will most likely ask to see it. 59 days and counting for us!

I went to new Zealand by myself in my 20s, in January. The weather was beautiful. The country is so beautiful. I stayed in hostels and easily met people, which I appreciate you might not want to do.

Have a look at Explore, I have done a couple of solo trips through them

Kerala in south India is very beautiful and there are some lovely resorts in the backwaters. It's a fairly gentle introduction to India, not as full-on and rapacious as say the Golden Triangle.

midsomermurderess · 07/11/2019 22:24

I've been there on my own and felt comfortable.

Hi, I know this was a long time ago now. But do you have feedback? Looking to book maybe with Intrepid to Vietnam.

I did a solo trip across Borneo from Banjarmasin to Kuching, didn't t see another foreign tourist in Kalimantan tengah or timur. The wilderness areas around Buntok and travelling up the river Barito through the riverports on small boats towards the Highlands I found adventurous but also relaxing.Palankaraya was surprisingly charming and I enjoyed all the Dayak areas.Kuching (Malaysian Borneo) was great to arrive towards the final week...modern with some nightlife.Southern Sarawak had a lot of tourist hotels and such in general.
