Holiday ideas for DD's 21st in February. Morocco?

DD is going to be 21 in February, she doesn't want a party and would like to go away somewhere warm and sunny with us. DH has the same birthday so we usually go on holiday around this time but are lacking in ideas this year.
Probably a week to 10 days and we can't tolerate vaccinations/malaria tablets so that limits things.

Previously we've returned to the Maldives which was amazing but too far and expensive this time. Barbados which was good and Dubai... no.

I was tentatively thinking Morocco as it's so beautiful visually and DD is studying photography specialising in travel and lifestyle. Not fixed on this though.

Marrakech market is amazing and Yves blue house/ garden, which you can walk to from the market.

You could go to Marrakech, then second destination of the 'blue city'. Great photo opportunities

I remember needing a jab for Morocco - just checked the NHS site and the recommended injections are Hep A, typhoid and tetanus.

If your daughter likes photography, Morocco is a great destination - the landscapes are open and at times dramatic and the cities colourful. Marrakech is mad and not going to be everybodies cup of tea to be frank. I went a couple of years ago with my family and my parents. My parents and I have both lived in the Middle East and Africa and are not Inexperienced travellers. We stayed in an absolutely gorgeous Riad in the Medina. My DF and DH absolutely hated Marrakech old town - no pavements, speeding mopeds, would be tour guides stalking you, no street names on maps. My DM and I really liked it - it’s not traditionally pretty but the colour contrasts are interesting, there’s some lovely architecture here and there, the souk is great and the St Lauren gardens (despite their popularity) feel peaceful. For a photographer it would be great but I’d warn against obviously taking pictures of people, particularly women. It’s not Saudi but also be careful of the clothes you wear & cover up legs and shoulders. What goes in Greece doesn’t go here unless you want to attract attention for all the wrong reasons. We took a trip out to the Atlas Mountains and saw old Berber villages and a waterfall. Again, all great from a photography perspective. The weather will be about 20 degrees - warm but not pool weather.

Agree not to bother looking at Dubai (& I’ve lived there) but Oman is a completely different kettle of fish and I’d choose it personally over Morocco. Most of Oman is mountainous with highly photogenic scenery, old villages that look unchanged for centuries, Hill forts, wadi’s and great beaches. Muscat has unlike Dubai kept a lot of its history and has an attractive coastline, old souk etc. I imagine it would be pricier than Morocco but worth it - Marrakech does feel very full on unless you’re in some hotel on the outskirts (where you might be anywhere to be frank!)

Oh wow; fantastic information, thank you.

Mountains and market contrasts sound amazing.

Oman is not somewhere I'd even considered so off to google that.
