Flying with newborn

We've been invited to a wedding that we really don't want to miss in London in January when we will have a newborn, probably no older than 1 month at most. I'm a bit concerned about flying from Edinburgh to London with a tiny baby having heard about cot death and flying and also the fact that newborns can be so susceptible to viruses and planes are confined spaces that just use recirculated air for the duration of the flight. Anyone else flown with a tiny baby? Am I worrying unecessarily?

Boogie - no personal experience I'm afraid, but a friend of mine is flying to the US soon with a 6 week old. Her GP said it would be fine. If you can you should feed them on take off/landing as this will help their ears with the pressure.
HTH - but I am sure someone with experience will be along soon

Boogie if you do go make sure your baby has a passport as they usually ask to see photo ID before boarding the plane. You can get baby passport photo's done at Jessops photo shop.

We fly Glasgow-London never seem to get asked on the way down to London but always get asked on the way home to Scotland.

We flew from london to jamaica with our ds when he was 2 months old. I researched it with many doctors and all said it was ok. You might just want to double check with the airlines as different ones have different rules, particularly the budget ones.
