Is there somewhere that you would not return to? And why?

Just commented on a post asking for places you would go back to and why. Thought it would be interesting to find out places you would never go back and why not. Not trying to cause offence! I'm going to get flamed arent I?

Mine are:

Amsterdam. Just found it a big unfriendly city. Away from canals, the buildings are pretty ugly. Staff in shops/restaurants/etc had a couldnt care less attitude. Didn't help that it was a really cold few days and we werent interested in getting 'cake' from cafes or looking at the red light district. I find Dutch people usually lovely.

Dublin: found it drab and old-fashioned. People lovely though and good pubs

Florence: I love Italy but Florence is just a working city with islands of lovely buildings imo. We'd just come from Venice and it didn't compare.

North Wales: beautiful but unfriendly. Everywhere we went people switched from English to Welsh when they heard our English accents including a staff member in a tourist info office! We knew it happened but it just makes you feel meh. The fact if rained every single day didnt put it in a good light for us. Have visited many parts of the rest of Wales, all good. My lovely fil is from North Wales and my lovely sil and dn is also Welsh.

Paris. I’ve been twice now and I’ve felt sick on both trips! The people are rude, I find the architecture very same-sy, the underground smells of urine, some parts of the city are so dirty and rundown looking, Gare du Nord is an awful station compared to St Pancras and I find it very overrated!

I wouldn,t say i would never return. I went to Bude some years ago din,t like it. Went back this year, much better then I remembered. North Wales has so many lovely spots. I wasn,t kean on Brussels but i wouldn,t say I won,t return.

I don't understand the opinions on Amsterdam! It's one of my favourite cities. I think you need to find your way around somewhat and avoid the tourist traps, but that's the case in any capital. The old, historical quarters are beautiful and it's easy to find some peace and quiet in the parks.

I wouldn't hurry back to Tenerife because I saw a lot of cockroaches there. This was a while ago so maybe it's better now.

Dublin wasn't what I expected. I enjoyed being there, but naively, I thought it would be cosy and quiet and full of traditional Irish music.

DH was completely underwhelmed by Berlin. Heartbreaking for me, but true. 😂

China (I did Beijing, Shanghai, Xian and Pingyao)

A few spectacular landmarks. Not sure I had a good meal. Spitting. Crotch less baby grows.

I disagree with many of the opinions posted above but will add my own - for others to disagree with - Madeira.
Terrifyingly difficult landing strip between mountains on arrival, pilot managed to land only on third attempt. Pretty overall, but not hugely striking. Nice old town, but not that nice - nothing particularly wrong with it, but felt a bit like a watered down version of cooler towns in Portugal.

Tunisia - we hated it.

Portugal, the Algarve. The vegetarian food offering was dire, and in most restaurants I had the choice of one dish - pasta in tomato sauce. This was a very touristy area in 2018, not some tiny village. I went for two weeks and I was desperate for something different to eat!

I love Paris and Barcelona!

Madrid was nice but not memorable. It's a 'been there, done that' city, rather than somewhere I'd go back to.

Orlando, Florida. Hellish place. Even the kids were bored.
