American Airlines/BA

After a mad scramble on Monday to find new flights after the Thomas Cook collapse, we've ended up going LBA to LHR then on to Miami.

Has anyone done this route, and can tell me if it's a BA flight or American Airlines? The flight number is BA 1528, but it says AA. If it is American, what was your experience of them?

TIA

Seeing as BA and AA are the same company the experience is similar, however I prefer AA as the American customer service is much better.

AA is I think better than BA, I don't really rate either particularly highly though.

AA are not too awful really.

Its an actual AA plane that coshares with BA and Iberia airlines.

Main difference these days is what you get on board, no alcohol the last time we flew American but the food was edible, flowing alcohol on BA but food inedible. I think they've reduced the offering further since though.

The 12.50 flight is operated by AA. I did that flight in July, and its new plane, good in fight entertainment. I think the AA staff aren't as nice as BA, and you only get free spirits in certain classes, but its fine

It’s a codeshare operated by AA flight (the other flight number is AA39) so it’ll be an American plane.
I quite like American, there really isn’t much in it but in economy I’ve found AA are a bit more generous with the food and drink. If you’re splurging then their business class is loads better than BA’s club world.

Much prefer BA over AA but it’s horses for courses.

DD has flown with both and prefers BA.

Thanks. At least no-one says they're both utterly dire.

It was a nightmare trying to find new flights on Monday without bottomless pockets. Got to the stage where I would've settled for a magic carpet!

They're both similar, imo.

AA cabin crew tend to be pretty unattentive.
