We travel on the Fast Cat on Friday morning, three children between 7 - 4 years. They are usually good on long car journeys. I just wondered if any of you have just come back from a similar holiday and wished you'd brought a particular thing, or did bring something on hols that was really useful.

Was planning to put together a little travel pack for each of the kids with comic, drawing stuff and any other bits tomorrow.

Anything else?

Shall I bother with taking the childrens favourite cereals etc or just go with the flow.

Overpack/underpack?

What was good, what wasn't

All advice appreciated.

Def give each child a bag of goodies, let them choose some old favourites, cuddly toy, some drawing stuff and a few mystery gifts, for those strenuous moments (keep them in you goody bag).

Sick/poo kit just in case, poly bags with no holes, scented baby wipes, loo roll, anti bac skuoose.

Cereal well you know you kids, mine like to go to the onsite supermarket for chocolate croissants every morning.

I wish I had taken more clothes, we were flying so limited, had to do a couple of washes. Laundrette on site but had to time outings with opening times to drop off and pick up which was a pain and had to get them dry. Ok it was warm.

Take sheets don't hire, just in case they are like the ones I hire sort of paper disposable ones yuch horrible.

Decent cereal very expensive abroad, chocolately sugary stuff you can get quite cheaply from Lidls et al. Depends how precious you are about it! If you have space in the car, would take "outside toys" (bats & balls/ boules/ ten pin/ football etc etc You usually have some space around you and with your DCs ages, you need them near by so find things they can play with. Even things you thought they had grown out of, such as bubbles and plasticine, will go down a storm. Just realised you're going tomorrow so hopefully will be tucked up in bed by now"!! Perhaps this will help someone else. But please let us know what worked for you!
