Is £450 for 3 nights at Center Parcs in August a good price?

I have never been before but have a feeling that it is a good place to go with an 16 month old. People have said there is plenty to do without spending a lot of money. I think this is a good price but DH had a fit (he lives in the dark ages where money is concerned).

What do you think?

It is good, but you will need to pay for everything while your there, with the exception of the swimming pool. It is not a cheap option.

Centerparcs is wildly expensive! I've been several times (twice as a freebie due to my job) and I liked it in a 'this is a bit like a trip to Canada in 1970' sort of way, but my, the prices take my breath away.

I don't think there is plenty to do without spending a lot of money either.

I've been several times with my kids at varying ages. At 16 months I don't think that there is actually much that you can pay for even if you wanted to, except the creche! for free there's the pool and various playgrounds including an indoor one but other than that it's walking and on the bike with one your age. There aren't any other activities for a 16 month as far as I can remember (might be a puppet show but think it's free) The big question mark over Centreparcs is the quality of the 'villas'; they are not great and the food is generally shocking - prices and quality.

Hadn't thought of the fact that the soft play areas will be a nightmare with older kids (duh . Can't go out of school time unfortunately because DH is a teacher.

Thanks for the advice. Am now looking at last minute holiday cottages but if I can't find anything I might bite the bullet and see. Theres always bike rides to escape the crowds!

Personally, I think that is loads of money for a 3 night break! I also think it is probably better to go there when your kids are a bit older, we went when our DS was 3 and DD was a baby and all we could really do was go swimming.

Have you looked at lastminute.com?

I think you are right westcountrylass. Have just booked a week in a farm cottage just outside Wells for £400. DD loves animals so the farm will keep her more than happy.
