If I loved Prague

For it's beautiful architecture, museums, political history, culture, people, relatively none tip off prices, ease to travel to from the UK, proximity from its own airport etc.

Where else would I love short haul?

The only negative was the weekend stag does but even so avoidable if you plan around.

Where else similar would I love?

Krakow! We’re just back from there - I would avoid weekends though. It was full of stag do’s & men in nurse outfits & gimp suits. A bloke was kicked off our flight before we took off!!!

I did love it though.

Budapest

Amsterdam - some of the best museums in the world, gorgeous and fairly unique architecture, beautiful city, lovely and friendly people.

Bratislava, Budapest, Vienna, Salzburg, Nuremberg, Berlin, Amsterdam, Brussels, Rome ... a bit more expensive Copenhagen, Stockholm, probably some Swiss cities.

Krakow, but make sure you pre book your Auschwitz, Schindler and salt mines way ahead of time before you travel otherwise you'll be queuing forever and will unlikely be able to get in.

i loved it there - going back very soon.

PS stayed at the metropolitan boutique hotel which was recommended on here abd it was lovely

Seville - smallish and old so meandering and walkable, river, wonderful food and tapas bar culture, plus 3 UNESCO sites including the most stunning ground floor of the Royal Palace (Real Alcazar) showing Islamic architecture at its best leading to calm and tranquil gardens. Plus should be warmer than mid Europe.
