Authentic, small and friendly but teens entertained on a Greek island - possible?

Hi all. After a very sad and sudden end to our family holiday (tried our first cruise) this year due to bereavement I am looking ahead to next summer. For the last couple of years I have tried to find a Greek island holiday that might appeal to us all. Looking for character, clear water, simple good accommodation and other families with teens. We prefer apartments due to one of our dds special dietary requirements but likewise like to be near good but simple places to eat (ditto the dietary requirements). Looking for a beachside holiday in either Rhodes (to appeal to dds who will be 15, 12 and 7) or Kephalonia (to appeal to dh and I, but harder to entertain dds?). Looking at Pefkos in Rhodes and Skala in Kephalonia at moment if any of you mumsnetters can share experiences. We aren't keen on five star as prefer things to be more down to earth (without being rowdy and tacky if that exists!). Found a lovely looking apartment complex in Pefkos but reviews said lots of all-day drinking and parents leaving kids to run havoc...Anyone? Thanks

Hi

I know you said not really 5* but we’ve just had a trip to Ikos Olivia in Thessaloniki.

All inclusive. They cater to all dietary requirements.
Water activities included in cost
There is a teen club and day care for younger children
There’s lots of pools
You can take a Mini Cooper our for a drive to the area which is included in the cost
It wasn’t snooty at all and staff and facilities were amazing.
On the beach
Adults only area if you want that
Evening entertainment every night
Lots of sports activities
everything included in the price you pay as it’s an all inclusive.

Regards

RKay2 thanks will have a look now. We do 5 star also but usually miss the character you can get when you go a bit more basic .

Aww £23,500 for a fortnight - out of our budget by a long shot but looks fabulous and so well rated!

Wow! That’s expensive!!

You can definitely get it at a better rate! We went last minute and got a discounted rate and I know they always hate offers!
