Would you recommend going there as a family?

Istanbul for a cultural experience.

Antalya and Olu Deniz for a relaxing hotel break

I can honestly recommend Kusadasi, we've been to the Aqua fantasy waterpark hotel and spa 3 times, it's amazing and really great for families.
My ds is 16 and my dd is 8. Finding somewhere that is great for them both makes all the difference. The hotel is not in a resort, it's a huge complex and has its own private beach. It's 5 star and great value for money.

Totally depends on what you're looking for of course but for us it's ideal.

I love the Bodrum Peninsula. There are a number of different resorts so you will be sure to find something you like.

Gumbet and Bodrum are busy and lively, Bitez and Yalikavak are more laid back and quiet and then there are the more traditional resorts of Gumusluk, Gundogan, Ortakent, Torba etc.

All the resorts are within and hour of the airport.

I used to go to Dubai for work and would certainly not return there for holiday. I find the culture oppressive and consumerist to the max. It has a terrible record of human rights and is completely manufactured. Please consider a more ethical country.

You couldn't pay me to go back to Turkey.

Turkey has some fab safe holiday locations with great weather and beaches. I'd just avoid the really big resorts... Marmaris in particular. I would take kids again.
Dubai... Been a couple of times.. Its not for me. Its hot-very hot and you can be surrounded by luxury but I didn't like the feel of it. Wouldn't take my family.
