Singapore and e-cigs

Off to Australia next month and stopping off in Singapore for a few days on the way. I've just found out that e-cigs are banned in Singapore. I switched from cigarettes to e-cigs two years ago, (menthol, not those nasty fruit ones). Apparently even possession of them is illegal. If I put them in my checked in luggage does anyone know if I'll be able to get them through? I know I need to give them up but going through a bit of a stressful menopause-induced time and now really isn't the time to stop.

(Yes, I know I shouldn't have even started smoking in the first place).

No advice other than to say that Singapore really isn't the place to flout local laws.

What I have done when stopping over in Singapore with stuff that they don't like is to leave it in the airside left-luggage at Changi.

Can you get through with nicotine patches for the trip out and then the few days you're there? I'd do that and then buy a vape when you reach Australia. It's not worth the risk. I had no idea they were illegal there!

They're a big no, sorry OP! I've been and pp is right - Singapore is not the place to try and sneak anything illegal in. No gum either Grin

Am currently on holiday in Singapore and as the other have said NO Way. They will find it and remove it from your case.
DH getting by on nicotine gum (not illegal in Singapore)

Thanks for all the advice - wanted to ensure I didn't end up in some foreign jail like Bridget Jones....

I am on the lowest level of e-liquid, and I know I'm a habitual smoker (you can set your clock by my vaping habits!). It's always been the plan to give up completely, but as earlier explained, perimenopause has been giving me a mental health battering. On an even keel now, and away from a toxic boss, which helps. I'm not great with NR gum (it hurts my gums for some reason) but I'll take patches and an inhalator (apparently allowed), and stash my stash in left luggage at the airport.

Lol i went there a couple of years ago with a vap walked around with in around my neck and didn’t realise. Didn’t get any hassle from the law but did get a local wanting to buy it from me. That’s when I was told they were banned.

I think I was just luck though and wouldn’t do it again
