Berlin - absolute MUST to do's?!

So DP and I are off to Berlin in a few weeks with a whole bunch of people. He's competing in a CrossFit comp over the weekend we are there but we've got a couple days either side for sight seeing etc!

It's just dawned on me that I have never paid much attention to Berlin! What are my absolute MUSTs to do? Any recommendations? We're staying at the Titanic Chaussee if that means anything to anyone!

Thanks in advance!

I'm in Berlin right now. It's much fresher and a bit cooler than it's been in previous summer visits. Very pleasant on the whole.

Prenzlauer Berg is my favourite area.

Topography of Terror
Reichstag

One of our group was Vegan so we booked 1990 Vegan Living for our main evening out meal and it was beyond fabulous.

Have dinner on the top floor of Ka De We
Department store.
The aquarium is lovely.

Wow! Thanks everyone for your suggestions! I need to do a bit of research and pick out our favourites I think!

Can anyone tell me, is it expensive in Berlin? How much is a meal for two and a pint for example?

I found the Stasi Museum fascinating, if you are interested in life in the DDR this is worth the time.

Does the Cafe Kranzler still do amazing breakfasts where you watch the world go by? Haven't been since 1991 when the city was very much post-wall but it was the most interesting city I've ever been to. Enjoy!

I'm not a big fan of museums but I found the topography of terror one shocking, saddening and hugely memorable, it's something that will stay with you for ever, as the pictures are something you just don't see normally.

There are images of people hanging in the streets as kids walk past going to school, , women and children being lined up to be shot, the photographs they display, the way the history is described is something that will make you pause to think and understand just what occurred during this time.
