I have attached a photo of what I am taking - all 100ml or under , in their original containers . I have one aerosol in it and a roll on deodorant.
Is that ok

Totally fine. Stick it all in a resealable plastic bag and you’re good to go.

Charliescar · 28/07/2019 16:53

Thank you ‘ I don’t really fly so I find it all rather confusing. Is the aerosol and roll
On deodorants ok ?

Looks fine to me

missnevermind · 28/07/2019 17:05

Don’t forget things like Nivea count as liquid

Advisemeplease1 · 28/07/2019 17:08

It has to fit into a clear plastic bag 20cm by 20cm, that can still be closed. There's a max of 1 litre allowed and it includes make-up, eg, creams, foundations, etc, as well as toothpaste, water, drinks, deodorant, shampoo, etc

Advisemeplease1 · 28/07/2019 17:09

Those rules are for carry on bags. Just put the rest in your hold luggage and you'll be fine.

Advisemeplease1 · 28/07/2019 17:10

Pretty sure you can't take aerosols on as hand luggage, only roll ons or normal pump action sprays.

Tippexy · 28/07/2019 17:11

There isn’t a 1 litre limit.

dementedpixie · 28/07/2019 17:12

It needs to fit in a resealable clear bag no bigger than 20x20cm. A small resealable freezer bag is around the correct size. All liquids, gels, pastes need to go in the bag

dementedpixie · 28/07/2019 17:12

The bag itself shouldn't hold more than 1litre

dementedpixie · 28/07/2019 17:13

And yes you can take aerosols as I always take a small deodorant spray in my hand luggage

ememem84 · 28/07/2019 17:13

I think some airports go by the 1litre max. I’ve flown from one which did this (London city I think).

dementedpixie · 28/07/2019 17:17

There are restrictions on the amount of liquids you can take in your hand luggage. If possible, pack liquids in your hold baggage (luggage that you check in).

Liquids include:

  • all drinks, including water
  • liquid or semi-liquid foods, for example soup, jam, honey and syrups
  • cosmetics and toiletries, including creams, lotions, oils, perfumes, mascara and lip gloss
  • sprays, including shaving foam, hairspray and spray deodorants
  • pastes, including toothpaste
  • gels, including hair and shower gel
  • contact lens solution
  • any other solutions and items of similar consistency

If you do take liquids in your hand luggage:

  • containers must hold no more than 100ml
  • containers must be in a single, transparent, resealable plastic bag, which holds no more than a litre and measures approximately 20cm x 20cm
  • contents must fit comfortably inside the bag so it can be sealed
  • the bag must not be knotted or tied at the top
  • you’re limited to 1 plastic bag per person
  • you must show the bag at the airport security point
Doubleraspberry · 28/07/2019 17:26

I’ve come across the 1 litre thing but can’t remember which airports. Gatwick is the most likely source. Even if there is no limit, given the size of the bag allowed, you’ll be struggling to get more than ten things in.

Aerosol is fine. I often take Ellet.

Doubleraspberry · 28/07/2019 17:27

Ellnet. Thanks, autocorrect.

dementedpixie · 28/07/2019 17:30

From my copy and paste earlier:

  • containers must be in a single, transparent, resealable plastic bag, which holds no more than a litre and measures approximately 20cm x 20cm

I doubt you would be able to fit 10x100ml items anyway

Charliescar · 28/07/2019 17:46

Thanks all

The litre thing must be for specific regional airports. Certainly doesn’t apply to all of them.

GiggleMcDimples · 28/07/2019 18:13

We weren't allowed aerosols in hand luggage when we flew from Gatwick a few weeks ago.

GiggleMcDimples · 28/07/2019 18:17

According to Gatwick website though you're allowed aerosols providing they are no bigger than 100ml containers. Pretty certain we were told we weren't allowed them though.

dementedpixie · 28/07/2019 18:37

The bag wont be able to hold more than 1 litre due to its dimensions. The stuff I pasted is from the government website not an individual airport. Aerosols are ok unless over 100ml in size

Doubleraspberry · 28/07/2019 21:08

I took an aerosol through Gatwick four days ago.
