City break with beach

Apart from Barcelona, can anyone recommend a nice city break ideally with a nearby beach?

We loved Lisbon but fancy somewhere different.

It's for September so sun would be great too.

I’ve just booked Malaga, for a city break. It looks like there’s lots to see and do.
