EuroDisney tips/advice (in general and while pregnant)

Were off to Disney in August for a few days before travelling across country for a week of chilling out. Very excited.

It's the first big family holiday I've been on since I was about 10 years old!

I came just to ask for some tips and tricks while at Disney to reccomend to my family and DP, as I'll be holding my nieces pushchair and the bags as I'll be 20 weeks pregnant.. so if theres any tips for pregnant women at Disney that would also be handy Grin

TIA

First tip - don't call it EuroDisney! It's been called DisneyLand Paris for nearly two decades now.

Buy food outside the park and take in your own picnics: the food is expensive once you get in there.

Where are you staying?

I did DLP while 4 months pregnant with twins Grin.

It was actually fine (though will be warmer in August than it was when we went).

My tips would be - take time out to sit down if you feel like it - I spent a good couple of hours in the middle of one day just sitting in the cafe in the Studios while DS napped in his buggy and some of the others went off and did rides.

There are quite a few ‘show’ type things - the cars one at the Studios is good, and similar indoor things which are also good for a rest from endless walking and rides.

There are quite a few things you won’t be able to go on (though plenty you can) so be prepared to be buggy and bag guardian quite a bit!

And book restaurants for the evening if you can, otherwise you may have to wait standing which I found hard.

And above all, enjoy! It wasn’t nearly as hard as I thought it would be.

Were staying at the Davy Crockett Ranch and driving over to Disney.

I've always called it Disneyland Paris but I assumed for the sake of not getting it confused with the florida park I could use the word Euro to make it easier 🤣 I disnt even know that its original name was euro Disney, laden something new every day!

We've planned to take picnics in, the only thing we are adamant to try is a Disney waffle!

I'll try to sit down as much as possible. I think its going to be very hot when we go so I think I'll need a few breaks

I was about 34 weeks when I went 15 years ago! It was fine, lots of places to sit down and loads to see other than the rides like the shows and parades and character walkabouts. I really enjoyed it as it was a family break with both my sisters and their families, my older sister was 32 weeks pregnant too, the kids loved it and I did too 😀

It quite refreshing to hear that you've still enjoyed it while pregnant.

All ivw has is people telling me it's a shame I'm pregnant while at Disney as I wont be able to do much. I was starting to worry I wont enjoy myself but it sounds like there is plenty for me to do! Smile

Take your maternity notes. You may be able to get an orange pass which will help with the queuing as there are still a few rides you will be able to go on. If you look at the Disneyland paris for Brits facebook page there is loads of information. Have a fabulous time, I'm counting the days until my next trip

Your first day will be orienteering and getting used to the park and different lands.
Enjoy the atmosphere, walk around the castle and see the dragon underground.
Go into the Disney land hotel (the main one) they have nice cafe upstairs. We always used it as loo and hand-wash pit stop before leaving park. It's lovely place to unwind after tough day walking.

On first day try and have go at fast passes, where they are, what they are ect.
Second day get up super early for emt and plan fast passes. Eg studio and ratatouille ride, then fast pass for it, whilst there. Then go and watch show in studio or do drawing thing, then back on rat.
Then go into main park head straight for fast pass machine, buzz? Big thunder mountain (family favourite).. Peter pan? Then keep checking pirates of Caribbean the ride times always dropped to 15 then up again throughout day. Ie some are solid up all day. Definitely watch micky and magician it will show princess too it's beautiful.

When we went (absolutely years ago now), we stayed in the Sequoia Lodge. On one of the days, we booked breakfast in the park so could get in before the day visitors.

A useful tip for any theme park - as soon as you get in, walk as quickly as you can to the furthest away ride that you want to do. People always work from the rides nearest the gates back, so if you do it the opposite way, you should get a couple of rides without huge queues.

Oh, if you're planning to drive to the park remember to budget for car parking (unless it's included in your hotel package) - on another thread on here, a poster said it was about €30 a day to park at DLP.

comfy good shoes/trainers, you will be walking MILES.

Fast passes are great.

use the disney app, will tell you ride times.

plan your day a bit - look at when shows are/characters are out and about etc.

there water fountains dotted about so take refillable water bottles.

the food courts outside the park are much cheaper (earl of sandwich, mcdonalds)

gbook a table at places like Planet hollywood or Rainforet Cafe if you want to go.

The buffet places in the park are EXPENSIVE.

A lot of the in-park cafes/walk up kiosk things sell exactly the same food/snacks.

This website is great: www.dlpguide.com

the DLP Guide will give you prices so you can set realistic budgets for food/snacks.

For example a pack of Lays (Walkers) is €2.29 crepes and icecreams are arounf €3-4,

the buffet menus are around €18 or kids and €30++ for adults, so can be REALLY expensive

The 'fast food' lunches will be around €13-15
(eg Cafe Hyperion - Chicken Burger, Chips/Salad, Yoghurt and 500ml drink is €14)

So definitely check it out first :)

00100001 · 19/07/2019 16:01

oh and the 'kids' meal is €9 in Cafe Hyperion

ChicCroissant · 19/07/2019 16:07

Parking at DLP is free for Crockett Ranch guests (love the Ranch, stayed there a couple of times myself - the pool is lovely).

Check the DLP website for ride details, it will show if they are closed during the period you are going. You can get a pass, you'll need to take documentation to City Hall - again, have a look online or ask in the online groups.

Val d'europe is a large shopping mall nearby with a large supermarket (Auchan) which is great for shopping, for small items the train station near DLP has a shop (you'll walk past the station from the car park).

Each area of the park has a walk-through attraction - the Nautilus one is closed but in Adventureland you can do the Aladdin walk-through, and look at the dragon under the castle! Also, the shows are really good and would give you a chance to sit down (esp if they have Mickey and the Magician on in the studios).

It's a couple of years since we went, but the McDonalds did macarons! The McD Happy Meal included a dessert too.

Enjoy, it's a fab place - there are queues for the rides but it's when everyone gathers for the parades that you really see how many people are actually there!
